Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Had my boss and his son over today . Primary goal was bream. The 2nd bream Alex hooked , as he had it almost to the dock , a bass clobbered the bream and he hooked the bass right in the corner of the

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

Was trying for bass but ended up with this instead , I’ll take it. Did manage a few largemouth later on

After a couple months of work and life getting in the way of fishing I was able to take a wellness day off from work to take my dad out. Was by no means hot but still caught a few with pops picking up a nice spot. Really looking forward to the fall transition and getting out a lot more.

No doubt about that. Since CDFW stopped planting trout in the lake a few years ago the kokes have definitely helped keep the bass healthy and on the bigger side. They're allegedly going to start trout plants back up again in 2 years... could be the best of both worlds for big spots and LM.

Made it out 2 days in a row and on a different lake this time. Numbers were up but it was a pretty entertaining dinkfest for pops.

Managed to get out for the first time in a month, squeezing in 3 hours before work at a lake I have only previously fished a handful of times April-June. Caught 8, all but one on a black Cavitron buzzbait, and the other on a Revenge bluegill skirted gold double willow spinnerbait.

Best two, an 18" 3.5lber, and a 16" 2lber:

Got a bunch of smallies up in maine with the best a 3-6 on a spinnerbait. Back home got a 5-7 punching a double wide beaver.

Took me a minute to find them since the lake was 2' lower than it was last time I was on it, but I eventually got on them pretty good. Spinnerbait was the hero of the day. Even had the super rare (for Kansas) keeper of all 3 bass species.

I really should have gone straight home and gone to bed this morning. Got the same crud my boys have had the last couple weeks and I'm just worn out, but the cool weather and clouds were too much for me. 45 minutes from the bank were enough to catch 10-12, all dinks on a stick worm except this 4.16 that absolutely crushed my popping Pad Crasher.

Got out yesterday 9-3. Boated 9 punching with the best at 3-9 plus a couple bonus fish on a frog with one weighing 4-7.

got on the water early this morning. never did seem to get the spots fired up but a few nice largemouth took their place. funny how that happens. swt’s remain in the 78-79 degree range, partly cloudy, NE breeze, but still quite warm for late September. had to anchor a few times, the lake is a little low as we’re now in a moderate drought. both of these bass came off brush in 12-15 fow.

This September has been alot like last September: Skunked or dinks, then BAM, some chunks. Got the first one in the daylight pics skipping a 6" wacky senko. 24 1/2". Got the 2nd in the grainy night pics on a 5" Norries Spoon tail shad. The fish blasted a Jackhammer first, but spit it before I was able to set the hook. I chucked the swimbait at the general area where it hit the chatterbait and the big girl oblidged. A shade over 23" and fat. My heart's pumping just writing about it. Catching a mondo at night while chest deep in water is definitely a different experience!  Hopefully I've turned the corner!

An extremely busy year prevented me from being on the water as much as I’d like to be, but I was able to get out for several hours this morning. It was windy, cold, and sunny and the bite was a bit “off”. Had to grind for 4 or 5 fish that all came from downed timber. Only one was decent enough to be picture worthy:

October is typically a great month for me, so I’ll be trying to get out as much as possible over the next month. This lake produces a lot of big fall bass.

Caught this one this morning on a weightless Senko.

Thank goodness for colored braid!  Caught five today and this was the biggest.  I felt nothing because when I flipped the t-rig in she grabbed it and swam right at the boat.  Fortunately the water is stained and I was using "ghost" (white) braid so I saw my line headed straight to me.

Last weekend they were biting for a total of 30 minutes.  I caught a 2-10 lb dragging a jig and craw over the top of a hump, then this 3-09 lb dragging the jig across the hump from the opposite side.

3-09 lb.JPG

caught 22 this morning in the little johnny. it was sunny and HOT!, SW breeze around 10 mph. the spots were schooled up and biting. this 17” was the biggest spot. also caught a 20” largemouth but she was gill hooked so i got her back in asap. life is good!

Nice pic. That's how we should be here but we're headed back to 90 tomorrow.
