Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Had my boss and his son over today . Primary goal was bream. The 2nd bream Alex hooked , as he had it almost to the dock , a bass clobbered the bream and he hooked the bass right in the corner of the

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

First time bass fishing in over a month.  Work and a bum knee kept me sidelined for awhile.  I fished Tepic lake.  I landed my personal best bass for length 26 1/4 inches.  Only problem was it only weighed in at 7.8 pounds.  The bass was healthy, and fought hard, but unbelievably thin.  Release went well, hopefully she will put on some weight.

Please get a pair of fish grippers to weigh them with. It’s not good to tear their mouths up with a bare hook. Nice fish though!

Fish grippers are on the list of things to get when I go to the states next month.

Fish Grips are always a very good idea since they prevent drops.  I wouldn't get too bent out of shape over a small hole in the fleshy parts of the premaxillary process.  They heal in about a weeks time.  There's a risk of damaging the some of the cartilage though, so you really need to be careful there, even if you use Fish Grips.  The best answer is avoiding it altogether but it is still WAY better than hooking them behind the gills, as I see much more frequently in pics of fish on the scale.  Now you're messing with their breathing apparatus.

Got another one at the church pond on a rage tail cut-r with a bitten off tail...8703D4C0-B371-4ECE-A51B-59489538C8D4.jpeg

Slow day to start, water was chocolate milk. Got a few nice blow ups on top water, one ok fish on a jerkbait. I decided to change tactics and went with a Lucky Craft lipless crankbait. Hit this nice fish! Unfortunately, my battery was dead in my scale... So.... I have no clue how much it weighed. I also could not find my tailors tape in my bag...oh well, put em back and try again. I was just about to call it a day because of rain...glad I stuck it out.

Decent?  We don't even have that brand of fish down here.

One man's "decent" is another man's "legendary"...

Had 3 follows (not chases) today. But the weird thing is there are hundreds of just free fry swimming around, so a lot of fish are all spawned out already. Which makes no sense.

Bunch of rivers opened up on mid-Michigan due to the walleye spawn.  Hit the Saginaw river, it was packed.  I was hoping to catch some smallies and maybe a bonus walleye for dinner.  Weather was kinda crappy got rained on 4 times.  Caught a bunch of sheap head abd 2 small large mouth.  Sheap head are fun to catch but, not what I was looking for.  River is loaded with them.  One came on a brush jig rest came on a dt-10 girlfriend

Randomly had a school of shad roam or get pushed into the cove we were working and the bass were just wrecking them. Made for a fun couple hours until we had to call it a morning.

Kinda slow day. Caught six (all 2 to 2.5 lb’ers except one dink) and lost a decent bass (probably 4 lb) that was barely lip hooked just at the boat. Caught all but one on a #956 Senko WR. Nothing on a jerkbait, chatterbait, Texas rig Zoom Tricks and Jelly Worms or XZone True Center Stick Neko rig. But, I did finally catch a bass on my Megabass Pop Max!

Not a bad tourney for a new lake. My partner and I missed about 5 more bites that would have put us in good shape. Also caught two 20+in walleye. More details in my log post coming.

Two days of fishing ponds, loads of fish but only 3 above dink status! Jigs continue to be productive. Black and blue with red strands tipped with a Paca chunk. Water levels are real low in most ponds.

This picture sums up my day of fishing yesterday.

I know what you’re thinking and yes that’s a weed eater in the boat. Didn’t catch much with it either . Did get some nice crappie flipping zoom craws at stumps

C'mon, man. You can't just call attention to the fact that there's a weedeater in the boat without telling the story of how the weedeater got into the boat.

@TnRiver46 is that your PB weedeater?

Should we move this post to "other fish species latest catch pics"?

Not quite but I do like that cheap little thing, going strong 3 seasons in for like $70.

I had to cut the grass at the lake house, which is on a cliff too steep for a mower. I always parlay that into 7 hours of fishing and 30 minutes of weed eating

And that's how you do it.
