I also bought my angling license for 2025.

What king of sociopath calls it an "angling" license? :goofy1:

May as well just call it an angling permit.

28 bucks for a couples conservation version. So 14 bucks apiece.

Pretty slick cost to fish for 6 months TBH. Last season I went fishing 35 times, so 40 cents per trip.

What does an annual fishing license cost in MN? $20 here. Easiest $20 ever spent.

It’s 28 bucks for a resident.

I buy the conservation version which is half the cost. It permits me to only harvest half the daily bag limits but 95% of the fish I target are released. So this is the version that C & R anglers would benefit the most.

I learned this from @gim last year -- so I do the same -- overall a good deal if you are primarily doing C&R

Not exactly tackle but it will be in my pocket every where I go, especially when I'm fishing. This is my first Benchmade knife and I can see why these things can be addictive. I had a coupon and a gift card so the final cost wasn't too bad. It's surgical sharp and definitely overkill for a pocket knife.

Benchmade makes great stuff. My wedding present from my wife was the old version of their Bushcrafter. Probably my second favorite brand after Spyderco.

Stopped by Dick’s to get a fishing license and while browsing I came across these:

The claws are made of rabbit fur. They look like they’ll be pretty good on a ned rig so I figured I’d give them a shot.

I do like my Benchmades. Excellent choice. That’s an awesome looking pocket knife.

Some odds and ends. I needed a few spinnerbaits like I needed a hole in my head but the Megabass I-Wing should be a blast.  Also, picked two 110 +2s that I mentioned in another thread. I couldnt find one of them and I smashed the lip on another when I closed the the lid on my Plano box. The Buster Ks have been on my radar but the $20 US price is hard stomach for a fog. I found them for $10 on a JDM site. They should be fun. I also picked up two 5in Magdrafts. I hope they are better than the previous version.

I have inadvertantly started collecting creepers. I do not have an I-wing yet, but Megabass makes a smaller one that looks like a cicada called the Grand Siglett if you are into them. Great little summertime lure.

I have at least one bait in all three sizes of the siglett. Fun bait. When the water hits about 55-60 degrees, just about any fish will hit it. I have caught bass, bluegill, crappie, drum and catfish on it. The Nano Siglett is a pain to cast though. I like this bait so much I picked up the Siglett BFS rod. It's delicate to say the least.

Sounds sacrilegious, but my first tackle purchase of 2025. Did I “need” it? Probably not. But BM was in my ear and Academy was close by, so what the heck. Everything in green pumpkin lol. A Bitsy mini flipping jig, 6” Zoom Lizards, 3.75” Keitech Rage Swimmers and yet another pack of Strike King Rage Craws lol.
