I learned to fish topwater baits with a Heddon Spook and once you get the cadence down its pretty easy. 

An out of the blue garage sale score! When I'm driving by one and see even the slightest hint of fishing related stuff I'll stop. Tends to be total junk. Every now and again....I won't even say what I paid. Rediculous deal!

Bait Monkey got me at Academy in the clearance section.... this is after Cabela’s got me earlier this week with a Casitas 151HG paired with a Tournament ZX Jerkbait/Topwater rod.

those underspins are nice for casting size 00, 0, and 1 mepps spinners for stream trout and pond panfish. 

Received a Kistler KLX 6’9” Rip and Crank yesterday. Ive been throwing shallow cranks on a terrible $30 Browning glass rod for the last 8 years. Seriously probably the worst rod I’ve ever owned. It was due for an upgrade. I’m also going to use the rod for chatterbaits, topwater, spinners, swim jigs, etc

I took advantage of the recent BPS sale. I needed a bright colored anglers jacket for those colder days on the kayak. The traps were on sale for $4.97 so they made good fillers to get the free shipping. Everyday low price at Walmart on the traps but BPS had a monster selection of colors too choose from.

 

 

 

Freebie from the baitmonkey today! I found it today floating at the lake. It still had some line attached to it so I cut it off. As I typed this out I came to the conclusion that I should have pulled in the line as there possibly could have been a rod and reel on the other end. Dang nammit!

$4.97 is the regular price for ratl traps in the walmart stores around here. problem is they are usually sold out of the good colors. yesterday the local walmart had red eye shads on sale for $5.00.

I fell victim to the monkey as well yesterday while exploring my local BPS... Purchased a boat and motor cover.. a new 8' catfish rod reel combo, half dozen various rattle traps.   I've been holding out cause there is a boat and fishing show this weekend. 

The last of my finesse order came in, and I was taken back at how tiny the Nedz Lockz are. I've been using the power finesse zman shroomz with success, and the gents over at Tacital Bassin keep praising the better keeper and stouter hook. So I bought three packs, and a set of micro Jigs. I've got 3" pit bosses, zipper grubs and a variety of worms and of course the TRDs. Any trailer recommendations? Mini Creature styles? I think the Rage Menace Grub will definitely be an interesting option, same with the keitech spider. Obligatory pic.
