Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)

I must be the only one here that has ordered a rod from DSG that was packaged well, and it was a $20 rod. That was back before this past xmas.

Their stuff looks really tempting, and not outrageously priced. I'd love to hear how it works out for you. What length/weight is that one? I don't see one like it online. It looks like it has no joint?

Just got my Keitech order from Academy.  $4.98/pkg

What brand are those? I'm not familiar with that label and can't make out the name. Love some bubblegum for smallies!

Pic of my new setup for this season. I’m pretty exited about this. It just feels and balances good.

It's the 6" 1.75oz bait. There's also an 8" and a 10". They were just released and aren't widely available yet. It's soft but no joints, only the tail moves and it does so even at very slow speeds. Big bonus that it's a line thru and you have the option to rig the hook on the top or the bottom. Bass pro has them in stock on their website oddly enough.

I didn't see it on TW, but looked at most of what Savage had on there. I like that it doesn't have a joint. I'm not sure if that really helps, but I've never had much luck with multi-jointed baits for some reason. I saw you posted in another thread that you use their stuff a good bit. Do you have an opinion on the joints?

Their stuff is so big and heavy I'd need to get a new rod for most of it.

Their jointed soft swimbaits are very fluid and natural looking, I like them a lot as well. They reinforce the joints too so they're very durable despite looking like they'd break easily.

Pretty much all swimbaits are going to require specialized gear but you can get a good setup for a reasonable price.

I’m thinking maybe swimbait for my next setup or the one after that. The fury swimbait with a tranx 200 for a full price of $320 I think seems resonable to get started to try it out.

Pflueger Supreme SP35 $85 (w/reel trade in) plus a couple Gerald Swindle Ballin Out finese jigs and BPS twin tail grubs.

@lo n slo I'm right there with ya on the Pflueger train. Had to replace a older reel that has been slipping lately.

Then I noticed the bargains.

Not a lot of hope for catching as bass on these, but I would love to see one try.

A local fishing legend passed away in 2018, his estate sale was a few weeks ago.  The amount of gear he collected over the years was truly unbelievable.   His primary target was large muskie and he was very skilled at catching them.

Holy smokes!  I'd love to see the mold for those Godzilla plastics!

I'm waiting for the reply from someone saying they've seen bigger.  ?

Local Wal-Mart had my confidence baits at $1 a bag!

I ordered both my Aird-X rods through Amazon - but was careful to pick ones that were fulfilled by someone else. Both came in tubes with the tips and handles wrapped in foam. The second one was even $5 off the retail price.

I ordered my Aird-x from amazon, full filled by Amazon but the rods had Academy tags on them. Came in a regular box, foam around the top guide. One of the boxes was bend, and the lower guide was flattened. Had to do the whole exchange process. Not worth it buying rods on Amazon tbh.

That's the problem right there...mine were fulfilled NOT by Amazon, but by the vendor.

where's the drool reaction? Is that a Xtasy paired with Tatula SV?

The Spring Fishing Show (in Ontario) came and went this past weekend. Didn't get my bonus from work yet, so I was window shopping but grabbed a bag of Z-man Hula Sticks, Keitech Custom Leeches, a couple of Tokyo rigs, and a couple of bags of SK Rage Menaces. I was on SO.com looking for some jigs, under-spins and swimbait heads. I didn't find any under-spins outside of the Owner Flashy, so I asked Mike if he's ever going to produce an under-spin jig and he's got something in the works. I'm pumped.

Went to Meijer for stuff not even remotely related to fishing and found a fishing clearance aisle cap at the back of the automotive section.  WTH?  Rapala jerks, KVD jerks, and Sizmic Shad all for less than $3 each (I bought all of them).  They had a full peg of smoke/purple Senkos for $3.59 so I bought one to give them a try.  Not too sure about that color around here.
