I just splurged on a few megabass dark sleepers and some small swimbaits for dropshotting. Not cheap but they make awesome stuff!

How do you like the Dark Sleepers? I have one but haven’t had much luck with it yet. Haven’t thrown it a ton either.

Well I sort of went crazy on my last purchase.  Dipped into the funds I had been saving for a new planer for my wood shop.  I guess the planer will have to wait another couple months because the 800 bucks I spent does not come easy.   I just ordered myself a couple new rods and reels from tackle warehouse.  Lost my Dobyns Sierra spinning rod to the depths on my last trip so it was time for me to re-up.  Because I liked that Dobyns Sierra rod so much for spinning.  I ordered 2 of them.  7ft medium fast and a 7ft medium light.  I also order 2 of the Diawa Tatula LT spinning reels in the 2000 size to go with the rods.  Ive never used any Diawa spinning reels so I though Id try something new.   All the hype for spinning reels continues to be aroun the CI4 but Im not one to follow the hype train.  Along with it Id ordered my self a few different colors of the Zman Fattyz and some Zman Power finesse Shroomz.

Oh man you could have saved ~$120.00 if you waited until tomorrow. I think that is when their July 4th sale starts.

Give them a call. I bet they'll honor the discount.

Placed an order this evening and the discount was honored online even though it is not yet advertised on their website.

Well, I previously posted a pic of 5 new War Eagle copper spinnerbaits.

Then I was paid another visit by the monkey. He whispered in my ear, "Buy more copper blades, they're discontinued. Get more of the clear copper peach skirts. And different sizes, too."

Then the little beggar stole my credit card and went wild.

But then he started ordering new outfits. You can't trust the bait monkey !!!!!!!

Ever throw the one with the red kicker blade?  I ordered a couple to replace some red river tackle spinnerbaits that featured a flo red kicker blade.  They are my bread and butter slow rolled in prespawn.

Decided to upgrade all my spinning gear,  bought 5 new tatula lt spinning reels,  a tatula baitcaster and 6 tatula rods.  Ouchie.  Went a little overboard

Picked up a Caenan from my local Dick’s for $50. Pretty smooth lol

Picked up a slightly used 873c ccr nrx. It’s so light and feels great in the hand, not really sure what it’s best use for me will be as I rarely fish a Carolina rig. But I feel it’s action will be great for any bottom contact bait.

Thanks to @Angry John and the BR Fishing Flea Market, I was able to obtain this little gem...

That is one impressive selection of War Eagle spinnerbaits! Have you ever thrown the war eagle double Colorado wake blade spinnerbaits? They have two truly massive blades and they absolutely rattle your hand when you slow roll them. They are made to wake but I’ve caught more when slow roll them around wood and over grass.

Enjoy! Used a 3/8 dark sleeper last weekend and had great success on it. I’d throw right behind my father in law who was throwing a wacky rig or his Zoom sand colored lizard. I’d say more than half the time, I’d get the fish that kept playing with his emotions lol

Took advantage of the sale items and free shipping from Siebert Outdoors and bought things I wanted to buy anyways so I think that's putting one over on the monkey, Then again he got his revenge by watching me try to choose among the many tasty skirt combos so we'll call it a wash and move on.

Well, I really wanted a 7" white slammer, but the one I finally found was a 9" so I went for it anyways. The 9" Slammer is WAY bigger than a 7" Slammer.

I'm a big fan of the Sub-Walk too. Why do you change out the hooks?

I change out stock hooks (and most split rings) on most every bait I throw.

Rapala baits in particular.

Most are not as sharp & definitely not as stout at what I replace them with.

I want that.

We call this technique poaching and feelings always get triggered lmao

Told myself I’d only get a couple. Turned into these 4 and another 2.4 inch one that I didn’t have in my car with me.

I'm a little uncertain as to exactly which one I have here. It was sold to me as a 9", but the package is marked as "Large" and it certainly looks from my picture like it could easily be 5" bigger than the 7" purple nitro I put next to it. Next to the tape, it's well short of 12" though.

As a general guideline:
"Small" is 7" long and weighs 1.75oz
"Medium" is 9" long and weighs 3oz
"Large" is 12" long and weighs 4.5oz.

Kind of strange, my 7" and 9" are on the nose.

I thought so too. I haven't had a 9" Slammer for awhile, but when I did it didn't seem like it was nearly as large around as this one is. I need to find my kitchen scale so I can weigh it and see where it falls in that department. I know that Mike does some special request, not sure if this bait might be one of them.
