I think I see a few bds1's.  Those are my jam, and I've been snagging them off the 'bay since they are $19 now @ TW.

Yeah 1's and 2's are my favs. This particular seller has killer LC auctions but they get you on the shipping so buying multiples helps get the price down.

I was looking at some of my original BDS3s and then realized that a 6th Sense Crush100x was to the naked eye at least essentially the same bait.   You guys ever notice this.

Catfish stole a BDS3 in the fall, been looking for that bait ever since ?

Yeah...I'm assuming you are talking about simmons.  I hit numerous auctions last winter and now have a thin 3700 for each (1's/2's).

Surely that couldn't be Simmons Sporting Goods in Alabama.   Wouldn't doubt it though, they have killer stuff.

Yep, Simmons

Very cool, know that you are giving your money to really nice, and honest people.   Been buying tackle from them for close to 30yrs.    They get some of my 2A funds as well, it's just a 25min drive each way to them.

That's awesome! I've been buying from them for years on Ebay and I actually just got a pistol RDS from their website a couple of weeks ago. They're always one of my first stops for LC's.

Do they not sell fishing stuff on their site? Or am I looking at the wrong site?

ya gotta have a place to put all this stuff...

I've been buying Meiho lure boxes with just about every Japan order, because they're astounding space-efficient.  These two are the same 1200NS box, only 1" thick, and arranged for different lure types.

ztdSLKw.jpg IPKdGLO.jpg

But I ran out of places to stack these, and began looking at Meiho tackle boxes.

Here is my VS7080 box arranged for last week's coast trip.

The white bottles in one side tray are the Procure flavors, the front tray are the packaged titanium leaders. Two rod holders on the end.

Pa4Yypv.jpg

Inside, the overflow box for used plastic bodies and the keeper box for used titanium leaders.

There are places all over the box to grab the top trays (keep tools, etc), and stable enough, you can stack more lure boxes on them.

Below that, the bottom space exactly fits Meiho 800 boxes in the narrow direction, and 1200 boxes in the long direction.

BZ1yI4B.jpg

The three thin boxes are lure boxes, the max-thick 1200NDDM boxes are packaged plastic and other terminal for this trip.

My buddy Stevo called it the Swiss Army Tackle Box.

Easy to change up for different trips.

They make plenty of other add-ons, including baskets for spinnerbaits.

I bought this size because it exactly fits in the sternwell of my small 10' river kayak.

Also discovered I had picked up some 30X0 lure boxes along the way that don't fit as efficiently in this box, so my newest Japan order will be a Bucket Mouth 5000 for stashing the rest of my Meiho boxes.

Meiho has a US importer with a website, but good Japan shopping can find these for 40% of the US price.  $20 for the base box above, lure boxes are $4 to $7 in Japan, the rod holders $15, the small outside boxes $5.

I had to go to Walmart to get some stuff so I can make what I wanted for dinner. And of course, a few fishing items found their way into my handbasket. Nothing really exciting. My Walmart doesn't carry anything exciting. At least my local doesn't. I was messing around with my chatterbaits the other night and realized I only have one with any green pumpkin. So I picked up a green pumpkin/ purple. and a green pumpkin. And I picked up a pack of Strike King Rage Swimmer 3.75 for trailers for them. Now I think I am ready for the season to get going. Come on warm weather.

Not sure I just visit their brick and mortar store.   I'm not even finding a website, the one I do find is for a store in LA.

Haha, too funny, my last purchase from them was for a Trijicon RMR for a G19.5 MOS

I bought a 507k for a 43X MOS but you're right, I bought from Simmons Sporting Goods in LA, not the same place. The RDS came from LA and the LC’s came from AL.

Seibert strikes again. I've never owned so many lures of one type and hardly catch fish. Going to dedicate 2 days and only keep Jigs on deck. Very excited to try this daiwa tatula SV. Been wanting to give skipping a real try and this seems like the ticket. Already completely exploded 2 reels trying.

My TW order. Only placed it because I needed more trebles and they were super cheap during the last sale.

4 packs of size 6 Mustad KVD short shank EWGs

2 packs of Gamakatsu Superline split rings (usually more expensive than the Owner HyperWires but sale had them cheaper)

Owner oval split rings (can never have too many, at least until all hard baits come stock with them)

3/4 oz Thunderhawk Sergeant lipless to replace one that a toothy critter cut off a couple of weeks ago. If you like throwing a lipless and haven't tried this one out, get your hands on one asap.

And rounding out my spinnerbait purchases with 3 Strike King compact spinnerbaits, one in white/silver, one in golden shiner, and one in mouse, which I think will be a great combo shad/baby bluegill imitation in my waters. This model is white/silver is what I caught my biggest spinnerbait fish on last year so I have good confidence in it already, and I love the compact frame in a 1/2oz size.

Birthday gifts.  Check out the color of the MB jerk bait @NorthernBasser.  Its a limited release version.  If it gets stolen by a pike, I might have a stroke.  Looking forward to using the giftcard later this month at the annual Spring Sale.

Nice! You pulled the trigger hey? Spend as much time with that thing now while you have the chance. The pike can't steal your memories at least. ?

Just a few new items I recently picked up.  Not typically a fan of lews, but one of there higher end rods for $79 I couldn’t pass it up. Paired with the pflueger supreme Xt and it passes the look and balance test.

So a few questions and an observation. Which Lews rod is that and curious about the ambassador and swim bait pairing? As for the observation I can’t help but notice that you’re quite all over the place with the fishing lines. I like it?

It’s a team lews custom pro. 6’11 m-xf. I’m definitely all over the place with line.  I like both suffix and power pro and buy either when

on sale. The J braid is 8# , also found that at Sierra for 3.99. Going to try it on an alphas sv TW for ned rigs. The invizex is for chatter bait /spinnerbait rod.  I use the 12# yo zuri for topwater spooks and poppers. And 8# as leader.  The old ambassador’s are where I started with baitcasters, and I still like them as cheaper swimbait reels.

  • Super User

@nhpleasantlakebass I also use the Daiwa J-Braid X8 (grey) for Ned rigs although mine is on a spinning reel. Also found my spool at “Sierra” although don’t remember what I paid? I’m absolutely loving it. I appreciate the feedback and best of luck with the kick butt haul and lastly I love the look of that ambassador.

Matt Lures Surface Glide 10" 6.3oz. Gantarel Jr for comparison.

xsg2 - Copy.jpg

The new Shimano SLX A Swimbait rod 7’ 3”MH F rated 1-4 ounces. Went for the smaller rod cause I fish out of a kayak most of the time. I am getting it mostly for throwing glide baits up to 2 ounces like the S Waiver 168 and Gantarel Jr but hoping it will be stout enough to do double duty for single-hook soft-plastic swimbaits like the 6” or even 8” Megabass Freestyle on Beast Hook. Backordered from TW till June.

Latest eBay score 3 200 yard spoils of 7lbs suffix invisiline. 4 spool of 8 lbs Yamamoto sugoi flouro carbon.  Picked it all up for $60 shipped.  Both 7lbs and 8 lbs are going on spinning reels.  If this doesn’t work I’m going braid to flouro. Decided to down size line a bit.  Atleast if it still knots up I have enough flouro to probably get through the year.

2nd photo is float and fly stuff that came in. 2 adjusta bubble floats one in 1/4 and another in 3/8. Lastly spro 1/16 flies.  Talking that winter will drag into April.  The float and fly might be a bigger player.
