My club (sw ohio) has an open on geist this weekend, I'm not fishing it but the thought of it has me ready to fish (aka spend more than necessary)

@Kreagerc High of 62° Saturday & raining. High of 38° Sunday, 10-20mph winds both days. I’d pass, especially Sunday. Going to try & go out tomorrow if it’s not too windy.

I was thinking of going to Eagle Creek on Saturday.  If the wind is bad, forgert it. 

@FishTank I should have gone yesterday. Forecast was calling for 15+mph winds but it seemed to calm down quickly. Too late for me to get packed & to honey hole so didn’t go. Had some leaves & peanut shells (squirrel hoarde) to clean up so did that instead, silently cursing the weather app. Was going to go today but wind again didn’t look favorable so just didn’t plan on it. Next week is looking calm once Sunday’s temp dip warms up a bit. Fingers crossed. Never fished in Indy before, any big ones lurking in the usual haunts EC, Geist, etc?

I haven't fished Geist but I hear it has been good. I can't bring myself to pay $20-$40 to launch. 

 

Eagle Creek has been hit and miss. I caught around a 7-8 pounder in Spring by the spillway and several 3-4 ponders but when it's cold, they seem to shut off.  You also have to dodge the crappie fishermen.  Overall,  I like going there.

@FishTank Too easy for me to throw the Crawdad in the back of the truck. Gone in 30 minutes. Bass boat is stored in a barn at a family farm 20 minutes away so it usually sits until we need a change of scenery or go on a week long trip out of state. The older I get the less I enjoy being around the general public it seems. Hate feeling that way but I’m not going to deny it. That’s also one of the main reasons I like fishing at night once the bass are off beds. Pits spoiled me for a long time.

Geist is the best lake in the state, it gets pounded non stop and still produces tons of big bags! Ramp fee is free now this late in the season, but yea the $40 on the weekends during prime season stings a little lol

Wish I could have taken advantage of the Black Friday Shed Sale at your place.  @MN Fisher and I could have made an all time-haul of tackle out of that joint.  Alas, it wasn't meant to be.
