Same and these are in my price range but that attitude is garbage compared to how great companies like Dobyns are with customer service.

Boycott for one post on Facebook and probably posted by an intern in charge of social media?   But hey, its your money. 

 

I bought 4 zbones from them this year and the customer service on the phone and via email were top notch.  Looking at their lack of inventory, I think they are probably doing pretty well despite the price hike.   At the end of the day, its as simple as supply & demand.

Walmart has a bunch of yo zuri lures on sale for around half price.

All 3 of my local Walmart’s are doing fishing clearance. I bought six Zman Original Chatterbaits for $1.05 each. Six RattLTraps for $2.45 each. Four Berkeley Shad Raps for $2.65 each. You get the idea. I ended up with two full bags of hard baits for about $60.

Was there a variety of colors? I was in Cabelas here a few weeks ago and they had a similar sale, but it was a giant bin filled with only one color (Sexy Shad) Booyah squarebills--like 100s of them LOL.

My terrible Walmart doesn't have any fishing gear left to clear out on clearance. 

Anyone have decent prices on Zakos? Can only find them at the standard $6+. Thanks

Good haul Angus and good if surprising news.  This means fishing gear clearance is happening at Walmart stores nation wide.

 

In case you don’t know the pattern, every store will vary to a degree in terms of what is on clearance, and what the price drops are.  Prices will drop down in steps on each clearance item, until everything marked for clearance is gone. 

 

In some stores, and on some items, the initial cuts in price are modest, and it may not seem like the deals are great.  Occasionally, the initial cuts will be substantial. However, the price cuts indicate what is marked for clearance and sometimes that first drop in price is enough to drive sales.  

 

The drops in price usually occur across the board on all clearance.  To my knowledge, there is no way of predicting when the drops will occur.   However, the timing of the price drops seems to be consistent from store to store.

 

In some stores, clearance stuff will hang around long enough for the prices to get into the dirt cheap range.

 

In general - similar stuff will be on clearance from one store to the next.  For example, this might be the year KVD 1.5's are being sold off, among other things.  However, the sale items will not necessarily be identical from store to store, so you might get chart/black back 1.5's for $1.50 in one store, but no red craws, where it is vice-versa and the next closest store.   Walmart clearance has tended to happen in March-April.

Clarification

@plawren53202 yes looked to be a hundred or more in sexy Shad and if there was any other color it was very similar. 

We shop for groceries for my parents at Walmart and so far the only sale items I have seen are Googan plastics for 3.50. Don't want to make too big of a leap since it's Walmart, but curious how that brand is doing, as this isn't a good sign.

I wish the Googan baits were on sale at my Walmart. I rushed right up after reading your first post about it but they all scanned in at $5.46 per pack .

They don't look like bad baits, but I have such a backstock of Menaces and will be stocking up on my new favorite, the very durable Arsenal Assault bug that at 3.50 I passed. One can only use so many plastics in a lifetime lol. Had they been 2 bucks I might have wiped them out of some colors.
