For you swimbait/big wake guys - Cl8 Baits is having a 40% off sale on their Possum and Baby Possum. The Baby Possum is the best rat wake bait of all time. Mind you, even the Baby is not small, and the Possum is like throwing a house cat. But holy moly do they catch fish. And Clayton the owner is fantastic to deal with, absolutely fantastic.

I've got a Baby Possum crawling my way.

I haven't seen the Baby Possum swim but the Bucca baby bull rat has a killer action and wobble to it

With $20 more, BPS Johnny Morris Signature reel is on sale as well. And if you want to trade in your old reels, it could be as low as $139. Aluminum frame and sideplates, various sizes, carbon drag, ... this thing is a loaded Doyo reel, except the brake design is a little old-fashioned.

Good deal for someone.

Yes, Infini/Magtrax. Serviceable. However, I'm done with Doyos without an extended pinion journal into a side plate bearing. They tend to get geary too fast, IME.

You get a metal sideplate with the ABU and an extended pinion. Also, I'm a fan of Lew's ACB. The ABU IVCB-6 is quite similar in design.

First pic is the BPS pinion. Second is the ABU pinion.

Those are great little crankbaits. I have one in cell mate and I love throwing it on spinning gear. It casts really well and gets a lot of bites.

Yeah, I used to firmly believe that as well, but my Revo ALX kind of changed my mind. After several years of usage, it's still just as smooth as any other reels with dual-supported pinion gears. Now I tend to believe that good reel quality would compensate the lack of dual-supported pinion gears, and vice versa.

I was excited to see this, but it's not working. First of all, it's sponsored by Shimano and Shimano is excluded.

CABIN FEVER SPONSORED BY:

Cabin Fever sponsored by Shimano

*Online Exclusions: Shimano, Jackall, G.loomis, Team Daiwa, 13 fishing, Megabass, SFT gift certificates, Simms, and Reaction Innovations

I put a St. Croix rod in my cart and went all the way to "pay" and no discount. Put a couple other brands of things in there to double check and no discount. I tried using cabin fever as a discount code to no avail. Not sure how to get the discount.

Scheels is having a "Spring Classic" fishing sale to compete with BPS. Great deals on all Scheels brand rods, reels, combos, and lures. MAP priced rods have a gift certificate attached. Last gen reels have some bargains if you hunt. And there's 20% off of a lot of other merchandise.

I have 3 Scheels brand rods and they're all good relative to their price point. The Scheels/Daiwa spinning reel is a dressed up Fuego at below Fuego price. I have one and and it's a great reel. It's feel is not as floaty/finessey as a Stratic or an Okuma X-series, but more on the power side. Butter smooth and feels very competent on larger fish.

I registered with the website and attempted similar things but no discount added. Are we missing the secret code?

It doesn't look like they have any 20% on any of the rods/reels. I purchased a couple topwaters/soft plastics/hooks and didn't have to do anything special for the discount. My discount was $1-$3 per bait/lure depending what I purchased. Buy $50.00 + is free shipping.

Dang. Should have advertised discount on all things except rods and reels, but that’s ok. More dollars saved for the classic expo.
