With the bass here being so stubborn lately, this has been the name of the game…

Had a couple passengers on the boat today, I think they really enjoyed their ride along.

Tega Cay on SC on Lake Wylie has an overpopulation of Deer.  The council has been going around about what to do about them.  They wanted to hire sharp shooters to kill some of them, but some of the residents thought that was cruel.  (overpopulated animal populations is cruel)  They finally settled on shooting the Deer with "Birth Control Darts".   (no I didn't make that up)

The reason I won’t be catching any bass in my closest reservoir for a few weeks. Over 4” of rain and the red clay is just pouring in. The whole lake will turn this color in about 24-48 hours.

Thats the color of the water in Knoxville right now with massive waves to boot

I remember a warm up in March one year after a big rain and a much bigger stream of water was still high but moving slow and looked like chocolate milk. I threw that chartreuse Booyah spinnerbait because I was there and nothing else to do. Bam!! Smallmouth keyed in on the vibration and was wanting a meal.

@LrgmouthShad's profile photo has some water that looks like that too!  And yet somehow he is holding a fish he caught from it.

That's the way everything looks around here.  Tomorrow is my last vacation day.  I'll be trying to coax a few.  The water was just starting to clear up from the last flood.

That’s ol muddy when it is actually muddy.

Although I prefer clearer water, I’m fine with muddy water with one exception. Muddy + cold water = might as well do something else because I ain’t catching. If the water is anywhere near 40 degrees, forget about it. @Team9nine’s situation with muddiness occurring rapidly is also one of my least favorite scenarios.

Yep - our water temp was 45 deg Mon., and this was a cold rain. They aren’t going to like it - lol.

Oh heck no. Yeah man, take some time off. Organize your tackle or maybe get some more. Do some chores around the house. Make some nice warm chili.

Kevin is a turd, don’t let the cuteness blind you. He gets onto the bird feeder just to get me outside to hand feed him. He is one of my buds though. He always looks at me straight on, as the pic above shows. Almost as if he’s saying, "You will be hypnotized by my cuteness, hu-man, and you will bring me as many peanuts as you can carry." He also lays his ears back quite often when taking a peanut, as in the last pic. He will often just sit holding the peanut in his mouth, causing a stalemate of me holding onto it & him not pulling away. He’s a character for sure.

Easy is my favorite of the males - he comes from a couple of houses away & will look in the windows for me if there aren’t any peanuts outside. He will also just run up to me on sight, especially of a morning.

@RipzLipz Have you posted photos of  Easy🤔

@Eric 26 Sure, posted this of him about a week ago.

Here is one of Easy from earlier this year, coming right up to me.

Staying home with 45 degree muddy water is a good idea.....but I can't do it.   I caught a big ol Skunk today.   I don't make excuses.   I suspect a hammer was catching Bass while I was Skunking.   The water was actually 49 according to my transducer, but my temp readings are usually a little warmer than others around here.   I saw what I believe to be Bass hugging the bottom ~40 feet deep in the channels but couldn't get them to respond.   I tried a little around shallow cover, but the 20 mph winds with 35 mph gusts made accurate casting......difficult.   IF they were there I'm sure they were buried deep in the cover.   Water looked like orange Gatorade.

Added:  I went all the way down to the dam.  They're moving a BUNCH of water.  All 4 generators were running and they had 4 flood gates open.   With all this it was still within a couple inches of spilling.   This picture is at Buster Boyd bridge.  The water color was the same all the way down.
