I tested it!  Blazingly great catches.  I leave my charm home and skunk- city.

just a fun thread - I don’t sacrifice a chicken or anything. :)

No actual lucky item for me

however it does seem that the harder I work,

the luckier I get.

Which means 2021 should be a BANNER season for me !

If I do especially well on a day, I'll try to remember to wear the same hat the next time out.  I can't say that it's all that effective.

No lucky charm for me. I rely on unadulterated skill and occasionally I'll catch some unlucky bass.

Sometime in early 70's my mom bought me a rabbit foot for good luck.

Got beat up and then had it taken by big kid in school while showing it off........I stay away from charms, they don't work.

Of course I have a lucky charm.

It is a St. Peter charm that was blessed by a Parish Priest in Cut Off, Louisiana.

My Cajun aunt gave it to me when I went to Viet Nam in 1969.

The only thing close to a lucky charm is my wife.  She occasionally comes out with me in the summer so she can lay out on the back deck while I fish.  She will even fish a little (and catches everything in the lake on a worm)...anyway...

Every single time she's out with me I'll be talking to myself like I always do.  I'll say outloud, "There should be a fish right next to that" and she will be watching as I make a perfect pitch or cast to that exact spot and I immediately hook up.  Then she starts talking about how amazing I am and I should be a professional fisherman.  This happens one time EVERY time she's out with me.  I tell her stories of casting into trees 10 feet above the water and getting my boat stuck and breaking off five lures in one trip and catching everthing except a bass but when she's with me I can call a fish on a spot and I'll catch one.  Seems to only work for one fish though....maybe if I had five wives I could catch a full bag?!

Luck comes when it comes, I've never figured out a way to manipulate it in my favor so I quit trying. However, tempting Fate totally works so I try to stay humble and keep my mouth shut out there.

My lucky charm is about 18’6” with a 140 on the back. If I didn’t bring it along with me, I’m sure my catch rates would drop drastically. Especially on the days where I’m 20 miles out on Georgian Bay.

Guys I’m not a real real religious type of guy or anything. I try to live right. I know I have a real addiction to this bass stuff. I treat the fish correctly, I practice total catch and release, will use rejuvex in my live tank when necessary, help others that are newbies who want to come along that really are just curious to what my addiction is all about, trying to educate my grandsons correctly about life on the water. I feel my fishing life and addiction is clean. I don’t think my current PB and the fish leading up to that were luck. I sort of paid my dues to some degree. I just think the man upstairs thinks I deserve a real nice one on occasion. I’ll take that. Here in PA I try to keep my expectations and possibilities real. I know what I lost this year. I hope I get that chance again. I hope it’s a sign of what’s coming.

I do have a  lucky baits though . It has  a tendency to catch bass better than other similar baits . Cant explain why . I assume most people would cast it once then take it off . It doesnt have hardly any action at all but its been , by far , my top square bill of all time .

No lucky charm I can bring can help, but leaving some things will.  If I forget my camera, I will catch a big fish.  If I forget my scale, I will catch my PB.  If I forget my camera, scale, and tape measure, I will have a truly epic day.  Also from experience I know if you measure a fish with a piece of fishing line, and use a tape to measure the piece of line, no one will believe how long it was.

I do have a lucky ball cap.  Nothing special and it's barely hanging together but I sure ain't comfortable wearing a different hat.  It's my one "thing".  I can't begin to guess how many times I've retrieved it from the water after it blew off my head.  It will receive a proper sea burial when it's time finally comes

Haha.  Truth.

my first best day I forgot my camera and my landing net. I lost a whopper right at the kayak.

I used to have one. A perfect clip on one hand operated pocket tanto knife. Broke it removing the old kitchen backsplash. Had it for at least 30 years. Yes, it made a difference in my fishing luck. My new “better” replacement just isn’t as good, it hard to get out because the clip is too tight on my pocket. Terrible.

I don't either. However, the only time I've been skunked this year I happened to carry a banana onboard and forgot it in the boat. Not a believer but it won't happen again. ?
