I can’t believe I haven’t tried that!

I’m a curious person by nature, especially when it comes to lures.  I was pondering a couple of hard baits that have a good following yet I’ve yet to buy one even though there are some colors that look great.  What are they?  SRO Rock Crawler 55 and Duo Realis Apex Vibe.  Is there that one bait out there that you just haven’t thrown in the cart yet?

I've done well with both of those.

However my tackle buying flag is currently flapping in the opposite direction.

Past few years I've dipped my toes (OK maybe more like the whole foot)

into the "I can't believe I haven't tried that" pool more than a few times.

And what I can't believe is how fast that collection grew.

Liquidation is on the horizon.

We need a company that has an inventory of every hard bass bait made (color, size,wt. etc.) since 1965 in new or slightly used condition. We send them 3 baits (new/slightly used) and they send you the 1 lure you want that you pick from their "catalog". Time to downsize ! I'm all in.  ?

I’m kind of in the opposite camp. I typically refuse to buy the latest lures on the market. I have never bought a ned rig, whopper plopper, vision 110, or lucky craft. I would have never bought a vibrating jig until I came across @Bluebasser86s homemade versions.

im not a tournament winner but I can typically hold my own just dragging plastic worms around on thrift store quality rods and reels . Fishin ain’t that hard

the last trick I fell for was “the walking worm” but the doggone thing caught fish until they were gone so maybe it wasn’t a trick

Stanley vibrawedge fit the bill of “that one bait” I just hadn’t tried but had been looking at for a really long time. I just got one of them a couple hours ago along with other spinnerbaits I’ll be expecting to need in the muddy, cold water I’m planning on fishing this winter break. The vibrawedge I think I will throw starting in the post spawn or so.

I definitely am a tackle collector. I have come to terms with this. I have fished with guys who used some of the most asinine tackle you have ever seen and they absolutely catch the heck out of fish. I have no doubts that you can thrive with a random assortment of gear. However, I really enjoy knowing that I am throwing a relatively obscure JDM lure or perfectly suited lure that there is a 99.99% chance whatever fish I encounter has not seen. I like to experiment with new stuff, but I can only experiment with so much, so some stay on the wishlist for awhile. Right now my big ones are probably the Jackall Bountyfish (very cool idea, but can be pretty hard to get your hands on), and some JDM bladed jigs (the chatterbait patent is a US patent, so JDM companies can freely make Z-Man style chatterbaits for the JDM market) and I am yet to try Deps but they have a lot of interesting stuff, like the frogs with hair tails or the interesting plastics. I have also been wondering if that Strike King Hybrid Hunter is any good too.

I'm in worse shape. I have two Rock Crawlers in the tackle box and have never used them. I've only had them for about two years. Maybe someday I'll remember to try them.

Plan on trying the rick crawlers next year.

A Mother Chaser. I'm waiting on a 90% off sale.

Rock Crawlers are popular around here, but I can count on one hand the fish I've caught on them. In fact, I'm positive I've owned more of them than I've caught fish with them.

I’ve bought them both and a number of other baits I see mentioned here.  I do better with similar style lures. The Rock crawler has yet to produce for me.  The same goes for a Whopper Plopper.
I, too, will be selling off or giving away a ton of hard baits next year. Many I’ve caught fish on, but they’re just different versions of my go to ones.

I own way too many crankbaits, but I will continue to buy and try more.  I bought my first Rock Crawler last year.  It has become one of my go to baits.  I'm not sure which crankbait it replaced on the starting team, but it is a starter for sure.  A must have for any crankbait addict.

I've been wanting to try the reverse rigged Fat Ika, but haven't bought a bag of them yet.  Next year I will get some to try, along with a Pop Max since my popper game is really lacking.

I relented and bought a Jackhammer this year.  So far the results have been disappointing.

Those 2 statements will hijack this thread, I'm sure... I've nearly gone to all Jackhammers for my vibrating jig fishing. I'm a stout believer. And I was an even stouter critic before I bit the bullet and bought one.
