What's up?

Featured Replies

Hey what's up everyone?

I haven't been on here in a while but now that everything is frozen where I live, I have to do the second best thing to fishing, talk about fishing.  ?

Which ones of the old squad are still on here?

Woah! Been like ten years. Lol. ? Welcome back.

Water is getting hard around here too. Warm snap this week might open some back up but we'll see.

All good here. Just sick of cold weather already and we still have 3 months to go.

How have you been?

What's up, don't know ya but see we're in the same state. I see you're by the northern border. What waters you fish up there?

I'm just south of champaign.

Lakes are frozen and people are ice fishing here already.

People have just started to drive their trucks on the ice here in recent days.  The portable anglers that come and go and move around hate it when this starts to happen because it creates a lot of noise and "crowds" on the ice, which makes fishing worse.

Black Lake has had small cars and small SUVs on it for several days now.

Apparently a lot of lakes north of here have a crap load of slush.  That will keep a lot of people offf the lake.  These lakes need a break from the pressure so this is mother nature's way of accomplishing that, at least temporarily.

Nothing worse than seeing 200 shacks piled up in the basin of the lake trying to decimate the crappies for 2 months...its not an endless resource.

Hey I have been down your way a handful of times.

We have some smaller lakes up here but the main body of water is the Mississippi River.

I have never had the guts to drive a vehicle out on the ice. ?

I've driven on the ice a number of times. One winter, the mother-in-law was up for Christmas and we got a picture of her standing on the ice of Minnetonka. She's got it hanging up at her place...being a Floridian, it was a unique experience for her.

Sheesh @JT Bagwell, I think the last time I saw you on these forums, I believe you were snooping on your son. Sorry, I don't remember his screen? My guess he got banned...?...probably by you...?

JT you were active on this site for awhile as I recall. Don’t think it’s been a decade....

Sick of the cold weather? If I recall you're from Iowa. You moved to IL to get away from the cold? Next time, move south.
