I'm biased towards clouds. I love them. But I'm also biased to fish whenever I can. It's just that when I know it's going to be an overcast day, I practically leap out of bed in the morning.

 

I think color matters a little, I think profile matters a little, I think light matters a little, line diameter matters a little, cover, structure, baitfish, and seasonal patterns matter a lot. Lots of things matter, some more important than others

The color red being a good bass catcher . I think you guys are lying . 

I’m bias against holding a med/Lt spinning rod with 6# line, bouncing up and down, staring at an electronic screen waiting for a 2# fish to swim by.

I don't know about bias....but I have developed a unique level of ignorance when it comes to movement in pads.  I can spend hours casting at likely carp and snakeheads....and probably otters and beavers and muskrat, too.......and wind.....but...you never know....that next movement might be (WILL BE) a LMB

My only real bias is for guys who talk down pork rind baits. I've heard a few. They've probably never tried them. Bass love em.

As a $30 rod user but a $XXX rod developer there is definitely more vibration transfer in a high modulus graphite rod as opposed to a fiberglass rod at point of contact.  Whether or not that vibration does anything for you...is up to you. For me...a basic $30 IM6 rod in several actions does just fine.

Haha.  This is me too.  I check the 5 day forecast and when I see clouds or rain predicted, that screams to me "go fishing."  When I see bright sunshine and warmth I'm more like "eh."

Between invasive & pollution our good old days are gone in many places. I have 0 small game fish last year. Just big old timers.............NOT GOOD........Not even 2 or 3 inchers where they should be.

I wish y’all could convince my buddies of that!!! They think fish only like chamber of commerce weather. Although it’s probably more like they (my buddies) don’t like getting rained on. Or maybe they have bad memories of hiding under bridges and boat houses in lightning storms in my boat haha

Why terrible weather is BEST in my area.

I can't convince my wife to go when there's clouds/rain in the forecast either.  She only wants to go when its sunny and warm.

 

Then she says that she only wants to go when there's less people out there.  Well of course there's going to be less people and boats out there when its raining...

i'm biased to daiwa rods and reels.. you can call me a snob. i'm also biased to always having a dropshot tied on. i refuse to get skunked and i'll catch a dang crappie, perch, bluegill, or rockbass before i leave if need be

All of the lakes near me are terrible for bass, and all of the lakes that are great for bass are far away.

Nor does fruits or little oily fish.

My color biases:

-Black and blue works on cloudy and sunny days because It’s always dark and overcast under docks and in the shade.  
-chartreuse is just white to fish 

-There are only two colors of top water frogs needed. White and Black(I do own a lot more though)

 

 

Frogs are green.

 

Crankbaits are rarely the best option, or even need to be out on the deck.

My bias is simple:

 

Fishing is the outdoor equivalent of playing poker. Sure, some have a legitimate amount of talent and can do well wherever they are, but for the majority of us, we can do our best to increase our odds, but in the end we're still relying quite a bit on luck.

My thoughts on the matter is that when I'm catching fish, I'm happy and I tend to not think about it and stick to what works. When I'm not catching fish however then I start thinking is my line too thick or visible? Do I need some scent? Or maybe my hair's not quite right.

 

As for colors, I personally believe the biggest differences are generally going to be with red (maybe orange) vs non red colors more than anything else.

 Improve your luck by selecting more productive water. For me that is fishing the 
Tennessee River below the dam rather than Pickwick itself. I fish the lake a lot, but

Not from the fishes point of view.....

I don't think color is very important with soft plastic baits. My experience has been that any dark color seems to work just fine in my pond but I've not had as much luck with white or pearl colors.
