The legend Ray Scott passed away over the weekend at the age of 88. Hard to think what this sport would be like right now if it weren't for him.

RIP Mr Scott.

Thank You for bringing your vision to life.

Did more for our sport than anyone. His impact is immeasurable.

RIP.

Ray Scott was one heck of a salesman and entrepreneur.  He had the vision to see what others did not and the perseverance to make it happen.   I was fortunate to have met him a few times.  Many people do not realize that he did not invent bass tournaments.  He brought honesty to the sport and created a platform where information could be shared with the public.   We owe him a lot...

Before Ray Scott organized bass fishing tournaments cheating was common. Ray’s concept of blind draw fishing partners eliminated stashing bass in cages or swapping bass during the derbies. Scott’s vision to create the Bass Anglers Sportsmen Society as a national organization changed bass forever.

R.I.P. your legacy lives on.

RIP A true legend and a true Gentleman. He will be missed.

RIP Ray Scott. Thank you for everything that you did. Got to meet him once on Old Hickory Lake in Nashville. I was in my late twenties and stood there in awe. He seemed bigger than life to me.

A sad day for all of us that love this sport.  No one has done more to promote, expand, and change the philosophy to catch and release, then Scott has.  He will be missed!

Sad day . Unlikely that we will ever see his equal . RIP
