My first Big Bass!

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

I finally caught a big largemouth bass. I started fishing last year and did not catch a single fish except for bluegill last year. And then this year i started catching a few largemouths and smallmouths here and there but they were always on the smaller side. I caught it at my aunts house cause she lives on a pond. And I would always say there is nothing in this pond except bluegill. fishbrain says theres largemouths here but ive only ever caught a baby one here. Well yesterday me and my cousin were panfishing i bought and ultralight 4 ft pole to catch bluegills and trout when i go river fishing. I caught this guy off of the smallest hook on the smallest pole, he lipped hooked himself over 1 trout worm, must have been really hungry to do that. We weighed him out to be 4lbs 16-17 inches.

Congrats on that PB!

Mine was the same. UL rod, small #6 hook,1/2 a nightcrawler and a bobber. How the heck it didn’t throw the hook amazes me to this day. Heck of a fight, huh?

You’ll never forget that one!
