What’s your guy’s favorite braided line

To me braid is a specialty main line and only used for specific presentations.

For years I used original Power Pro because it never gave me a reason to change or to even experiment with something else which I rarely do for anything anyway.

I tried a spool of Seaguar’s Smackdown and never looked back.

There are other 8 carrier lines that you’ll hear about soon enough, but for me and what I use braid for Smackdown is all I use.

suffix 832

I have tried a lot of braid and all of it works good but for my money - hard to beat the Kast King super power braid - I use different diameter for different applications but generally use a lot of 50 and a lot of the 25.

Power Pro for me so far. The only other braid I tried was spiderwire and all I'll say about that is...Never Again"!! PP was on a reel that was given to me and I liked it and see no reason to change for sake of changing. JMHO.

Seaguar Smackdown, Sufix Revolve or Sufix 832 is all I'll use.

Basic power pro for most things. I do like Daiwa Samurai though for more finesse applications. Super smooth.

I was a Suffix 832 diehard, but I've been very impressed with Berkley X9, I don't think I'm going back to 832.

Basic, boring power pro , but admittedly I search for more exotic stuff. right now it is JBraid, I think.

I am trying to get back to Brazil. last time I used power pro and it was awesome. only dude that didnt have to respool was me!!

this time? I might try JB Line One. I heard that stuff is smooth!!

Sunline FX2. Sufix 832 is fine.

Tried J-Braid. Very soft. Did not love.

Most of my reels are running 131 at this point. The smoothest braid that I’ve ever tried and I like it for my braid to leader set ups. For frogging I just run 832. I tried Maxcuatro for the first time this spring and I like in so far also.

Nothing but sunline products.. Fx2 N Sx1 for braid... Shooter N sniper for florou..

I like 832. Cortland master braid is my favorite. I’d rather use mono than spool up with PP.

Pex8 on spinners

Pline endurx on casting, but most rods are fluoro or copolymer.

I keep coming back to 832. After testing a couple of braided lines from YGK since summer last year, they simply do not last the same way 832 does. Right now i wanna try a few braids from Hardcore, will see how they last.

Gosen Answer casting pex16 #2 on my casting gear that has braid.

Trying out Shimano Pitbull g5 sinking braid on some of my spinning gear and loving it so far.

If I was limited to USDM purchases, either Sufix 131 or Seaguar Smackdown.

I use 832 and max Quattro.

Tried 131, I like that a bit more but the other braids last so long that it's going to be several seasons before there's a reason to replace them.

YGK UPGRADE X-8 as a general purpose line. For spinning reels I like Varivas Seabass X9. For jigs, I use YGK OLLTOLOS WX. If I could afford it, I'd be using YGK Shinji X9. I got a spool about a year ago for about half the cost it is now.

I use leader on all of these 90% of the time.

I've been trying braid on one of my spinning reels. In the past I had a lot of wind knots with Power Pro. I switch to Fireline this year and haven't had the problem. I don't know if that's from switching lines or some other mix of reasons though.

Mostly been using Smackdown and TactX but I've been trying the Seaguar PEX8 on a couple spinning rods this season and really liking it.

How long has the UPGRADE X8 lasted for you? From mid last season to early this year, this braid was perfectly for me, then, around mid May, in a single day, i've had FIVE line breaks on a hookset in a single day. Lost tons of line and lures with it. It was so weird that i thought something was wrong with my guide inserts, but nope, the rod was perfect. Ever since this happened, i just don't use it anymore. Such a good caster, but super disappointed of the line snapping like that (it was a 25lb test one).
