whats your fav spinnerbait rod?
x2 great spinner bait rod, but I use it for Jig and worm. Although I am thinking of getting the 6'6" MH as a dedicated spinnerbait rod.

General Walleye Advice?
I have found gulp alive minnows to be great rigged on a 1/4 oz jig head and just hopped along. As for places to find them, looking at your map there is alot of depth changing. I would start at the wind blown side and try drifting through one of the steep inclines and hop the jig up the side. And then turn the trolling motor on high and work back the other way, and just continue to do this moving down the shore, watch your graph for little differences that make it different from the other inclines.

KVD Tour Crankbait Rods
...Ouch... Anything Quantum? http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_104126____SearchResults IMO there products are just fine. On a good note my friend has a Tour KVD and i thought it was great got to play with it a little. But A Carrot Stick or Crucial would be a better option, so unless you have got yourself a good deal on that rod I would not jump on it first.

A Stud or Numbers?
#1- Usually I am with someone, and to make it so they enjoy it more I want numbers. I agree with Francho, for tournaments #1 would also be the best answer because for 4# fish if you catch 5 you got a nice limit.

if you stick a fish and loose it fast...will you keep fishing for it
x2. My girlfriend was fishing and didnt hook it the first time tossed it right back at it and bam took it in. There has even been times when I have reeled the fish in quite a bit and then it still bit again.

lookin for a good rod/reel combo
x2 on the left hand. Make sure you go to a store and feel it, some like to switch hands on the retrieve so they can reel with their right

lookin for a good rod/reel combo
Quantum Accurist and a St Croix Mojo. On ebay this will put you at around $150. Or a Citica 200d can be interchanged for the Accurist. Great starting Combo IMO. MY brother owns the accurist and its a great reel, and I have heard great things about the Mojo.

Old Shimano Curado DPV Model??
I have it and it is great. No Complaints yet, only had it fishing once but very smooth casting. You won't regret it.

Spinning rod and line
Well power depends on which brand you are looking at. St Croix's power is different from G Loomis' which is different than shimanos. But I would say MH Fast action, with 6# Hybrid. Or if its ultra clear and not a lot of heavy cover you might be able to go down to 4# hybrid.

Mojo bass rods.
And a few more weeks and you get a IMX and then a few more and eventually your at a GLX. Its like the drinks at 7/11, well the small is 50 cents, but a medium is only 60 cents, and a large is only 70 cents, and the X Large is 80 cents. Until you're at the big gulp for $1.29. They getcha everytime. I started looking at Mojo bass, then looked at Carrot Sticks and then Settled on my Avid. I am sure if my bank account wasnt running dry I would at least have an IMX.

I thought you got better with more experience.
I would say it has a lot to do with competition. Sure they were great back 20-30 years ago, but to the extent that the elite series skill level has increased has been dramatic. Just looking at my own club, every year some new record is broken for heaviest fish, or biggest bag. You can probably see this across the whole bass fishing world. A good bag back 20-30 years ago is not the same that it is today. Great post. I always think the same thing about other sports. Looking back at hockey would the old players that are in the hall of fame survive today? Probably not competition has just gotten so intense. And with population increasing it is making the world more and more competitive because everyone needs to work hard to become successful.

Deep Crankin Reel.
x2 great reel

Curado. VS Energy.
The new energy has gotten great reviews. But so has the Curado. Shimano has always had great products where as quantums background is not as strong.

Kistler Argon Crankbait Rod
Have you looked at the 6'9" cranking carrot stick?

Another JJ's Testimonial.
Ditch the B**** and go fish.

Senko is my new favorite
Try the ***, lasts longer, you get more for less price, and IMO they work just as good. I can catch plenty of fish on just one of these. My record is three then it got hung up.

Saros or Supreme
Well I have been looking for a new Spinning reel and these two fit the budget. I have been doing a lot of research both through the search on here and many reviews on Basspro and Cabelas. Only problem with that is they seem pretty even. So I want to see if anyone has used any of these and can point out which ones have felt better to them. I felt the Supreme at gander mountain the other day and it is really light. My dad owns the Shimano Sahara and its very smooth and I am thinking the Saros is just an upgrade from that. Any input would be great. I wish I could just buy both and call it a day :-) but I need to save for a new carrot stick also lol. Thanks -Dylan

Size line: spinnerbaits & crankbaits
14#. It floats a little more which will keep your crankbait close to the top.
-
Deep Crankbaits
Use the good ole "Kneel and Reel". That'll get her down there
-
decent baitcasters for under $50
The citca 200d was on sale at gander mountain last week for $50

Best flippin stick for $150 or less?
I have been searching for one also. I have narrowed it down to a few. Crucial CRC-76H at $180, Carrot Stix CLTX761H-C at $150, and Powell 766H-XT at $170. I am sure all can be found cheaper through ebay. I am really pushing towards the Carrot Stick because it is so light and I figured in a flipping stick the weight would make it better. The powell has a Telescopic handle so it shrinks down a bit. And the crucials are just great rod and they are backed with a great warranty.

lake chautauqua bass?
I'm guessing a wave of largemouth have already gone through. This weekend should be a big weekend for the spawn. Well at least near me which is only ~2 hours away from Chautauqua. Not sure about the smallies tho.

Which reel do you think is better
Wow, Your bait monkey must love you. That is one good looking picture.
-
I beat the bait monkey!
Looks like I'm losing tomorrow. headed out to Gander and have two pay checks for $200 that I will cash right before. And well I guess I could use a spinnerbait rod, I mean I don't really have one. And then I will need to buy a bunch of spinnerbait's to go with the rod, and Some line... uk

If munee wuzunt an ishew....
Well this all depends on a bunch of stuff. Its almost like if money wasn't an issue for a high end car, some people would buy Ferrari's and some would buy Lamborghini's. So it depends on what you want to use with it, and what your personal preference is. Some (most) would pick a Shimano reel and a G Loomis rod. But others might find a Pflueger a better reel and St. Croix a better rod. There is no one set choice on best fishing outfit available. But, generally speaking G Loomis seems to be the best option for rods, as in many people believe them to be best. As for reels it becomes mostly personal preference, but many have gone with Shimano because it has good reputation. Are you looking for spinning or casting? What technique do you want to use with it?
