  1. Thanks for asking, bud. I definitely don't want this thread turning into anything about me, but I'm hanging in there. Haven't been able to fish for the past 2 1/2 month. Chemo side effects just make it too hard. So it's been rough not being able to get out. The chemo had stopped/slowed the cancer as of now. But they'll be taking me off one of the chemo meds now going forward. So I hope the side effects subside some where I'll feel like doing stuff again. And once that stops working then they'll go from there as to what they wanna try. As you may remember, when I was diagnosed back in January they gave me about a year. But with the most recent scans and the way it's looking, they say it will likely be longer now, they just don't know how much longer. My breathing can get pretty labored if I overdo it too much. But then there's days it's not as bad. Thankfully I have a great support group...and I really am at peace with it. I've lived 50 years, so not too bad. To me the real sad stories are seeing these children with cancer. That's just not fair. But thanks again for asking. @MN Fisher I've been thinking of you too my friend. I hope things are as good as they can be for you in these times. 🙏
  2. I literally just logged on to see if Catt had any updates. d**n it! You will be missed around these parts, Catt. Godspeed, my friend.
  3. Sorry, pal. Dogs are the best.
  4. Tatula 100 and the Curado MGL 70 and 150 are solid reels.
  5. Thinking of you, Catt. 💙
  6. Correct. Trim from the head. The correct length really gets it hunting. They also work well as a shaky head. And when they start getting torn up, I'll cut it down and use on a ned head.
  7. If you trim these down a tad, they make awesome bladed jig trailers. They really get the bait to hunt.
  8. Not the smallest scale, but I've always had good luck with this one. https://www.amazon.com/Piscifun-Gripper-Waterproof-Electronic-Stainless/dp/B07F753ZYY/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2Q9Z5JJEEMEVB&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.xO_vFsl_Gr_NdAZqpZeP3i_C2Sr4EpdNsG0fsC1oNrSdQTKu-L599G_dBG0sg-2AS_ouYIVIjROfOfBUSJXyKebOtFW6UXvvLnuTpyY72xTHiJA99XS8nxYk5D1N58UIqUl1KbHdZuVqxH2CJzQpAPznyAdEwg-hwkLDYobWGJfvUMgfvtuJV3V162y2z6TZirmmlhirT6YTBVjLW9V2wKMT2VOQeTnmNnL355uPGTcayzFljxMmdyH3MrAzmlOV9rjeBqtP-o6AkMtgUHiTFOA_apBFSxfu_fZQIIe7vPE.xDhuYS_IqlJ1n95DTeNdG5TFcTktg_RCQHXX4j97OZc&dib_tag=se&keywords=piscifun+scale&qid=1752331228&sprefix=piscifun+sca%2Caps%2C157&sr=8-1
  9. Tungsten all the time. Mostly Siebert's, but Nako brand is good, too.
  10. I'd keep them in original bags. Then you can fit 2-3 different baits in each sleeve without different colors touching/bleeding on each other.
  11. And if you want a black frog, just take any of those colors and take a sharpie to it's underside.
  12. I'll take the regular size Pad Crasher and insert 3 bb's and 3 tiny craft bells into the 'butt'. Gives it a rattle but also gives it the added weight, but not enough to where it sinks in open water.
  13. Pro Point Lures Machete Minnow. Great bladed jig trailer and quite durable.
  14. Swim Jig rod over the bladed jig rod? They're both rated pretty much the same, except the Bladed Jig is 1" longer.
  15. Was just gonna post this. Unless he's talking hard swimbaits. Not sure I'd wanna use this with trebles.
  16. Hey guys and gals. I have 2 friends who are hardcore muskie fishermen. They used to bass fish but it's been years. Anyways, they now wanna dabble in the bass game again and asked me for recommendations on a rod/reel setup. For reels, I know they like Shimano and Daiwa. Rods they don't really care. They both wanna keep the budget around $300, and wanna be able to throw bladed jigs, lipless, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits. I have separate rods that I throw all those on, and those combos are more than $300. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  17. I like them. They seem to glide farther than a Super Fluke (which I also love). The Baby Bluegill color does great for me, especially in the spring.
  18. Wheeler erases a 20 lb deficit like it was nothing lol.
  19. Somebody tell these cameramen to wipe off their camera lenses. Sheesh.
  20. I don't know why I ever went away from these. I used to have one tied on at all times. They'd catch fish when nothing else would.
  21. I placed a small order May 27. Latest update I got was "label created" on June 1. Still waiting..
