  4. Yeah, it has taken a while but all systems are go and waiting for Spring,,,,,,,, with a little more appreciation!
  5. Just saw your post on FB. Sounds kinda like my heart deal; shovel snow, don’t feel well, see doctor next day, sent to the hospital for stents, stents won’t work so following day quadruple bypass! Yeah, fun. It comes as a surprise doesn’t it?!! Thankfully you’re doing well and got the yak sorted. Really like the new additions. Have fun, be safe
  6. Good but not an “all time” great. Now Hateful Eight, thats another conversation!
  7. I fish all braid with leader if necessary but have seen many pros/club anglers use Sunline lines. If I went to a non braid line I would definitely try out Sunline products.
  8. What would suk is if you were 2/3 into filling your reel spool.
  9. Wouldn’t know a Coelacanth if he caught one!
  10. I have terrible sinus problems in the winter and have a bed side vaporizer I run at night. Additionally and most importantly I rub Vicks inside my nose to help keep it moist and the mentholatum vapor relives congestion. That was the whole idea as a kid having it rubbed on your chest, being able to inhale the mentholatum vapors to improve breathing when stuffed up. It’s just Vasoline petroleum jelly with menthol additives. But it works!
  11. There’s no reason you can’t repaint it. Although the plastic parts; head, bottom cover, shaft collar etc, are impregnated color (formed with a white pigment) and should be painted with a “plastic friendly “ product such as Krylon Fusion. The metal parts, just spray with a product like Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy paint, several coats each and should be good to go. In the prep on the metal parts I would start with a GREEN scothbrite pad then 220 grit if needed (doubtful). Remember, just a light smooth scuff of the factory finish is all that is needed, clean well with acetone and paint. The plastic I would just use a RED scothbrite pad (or green if needed) clean with a 80% water-20% isopropyl alcohol and a drop of dawn dish soap solution, drying throughly. All your trying to do is create a textured surface, dulling the factory shine, for the new paint to adhere to so watch too aggressive sanding. I’ve painted many similar exterior component products without any issues (but nothing submersible for extended time as a trolling motor would be). However after extended use at worse you'd have to touch up, no big deal. Take your time, GOOD PREP IS IMPERATIVE and give plenty of drying time.
  12. I have to admit, as @Deleted account noted todays dollar -vs- “our day” dollar is much different. I purchased my last new truck (literally!) in 2019 and had sticker shock then, but in reality I probably paid just as much (relatively) to my new 2003 truck. Although it sure seemed much cheaper back then. ?
  13. HERE is a dark hole to head down! ? https://m.youtube.com/@TinyBoatNation
  14. My Nephew sells Phoenix boats at $60-90k every week to twenty somethings. Where they get the money, I have no idea. Other than the beginning of a looooooooong trail of debt. Been there, done that, aint going back!
  15. Oh darn, I thought he’d say to catch fish. Guess not….
  16. Great Fishing Event FACEBOOK
  17. Essentials update. Since I have acquired the “basics” to get out on the lake/river, Christmas did add a few new items. Not asked for but as gifts! 26” Ketch Board (mandatory for local KBF tournaments) 2 Yakattack Omega Rod Holders NRS River Knife for the PFD Still about a month out for delivery but looking at the Helix 7 graph to add along with the LifePo4 batteries when the kayak arrives. Still resisting the “buy everything” urges but happy with the items I have accumulated, being the same type of things I would use on any of my previous bass boats.
  18. Saw those videos just the other day on the tube. Good stuff and very interesting findings. Gave me some confidence in the “dead seas” I typically fish!
  19. Did you find a cover? COVERCRAFT for Kayaks
