Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Had my boss and his son over today . Primary goal was bream. The 2nd bream Alex hooked , as he had it almost to the dock , a bass clobbered the bream and he hooked the bass right in the corner of the

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

Got out for a little while last night. Dead calm and cloudy conditions.Had 3 nice blow ups on the bitter’s buzz’n Gator in watermelon red, including one on the first cast. This bait is essentially a swimming frog.Because I didn’t have much time, I started near my house and went up the west shoreline. I dont fish that area much, because it is very weedy and shallow . I caught 1 decent fish and a dink on the ‘ gator , and a one pounder on the rage tail cut-r.

Nothing to write home about, but I really enjoyed being on the water , and fishing out of my bass hunter. The chair in it is so comfortable compared to my Jboat , that just has a bench seat…

Two of the larger fish I caught today, out of 6 total in about 2 hours of public pond fishing. I've had days of 10 bass in 2 hours at that pond, but the last couple weeks it's been 0, 1, 2. It was refreshing and assuring to get 5 fish above a pound. All caught on a super beat up chatterbait micro, skirtless, with a BPS split-tail stik-o on the back.

The one with black spots was new to me, hadn't seen anything like that before. I'm guessing scars from an old injury?

Blotchy bass are pretty common for me. In Fisherman did a short article about it a while back and didn't really have any answers other than it doesn't seem to have any negative effect.

Fished over four hours this morning. Two superdinks and this one.  All on a 4” #956 Senko on a 3/0 EWG. No bites on anything else.

Got two good ones on an otherwise slow afternoon, the bigger one on a ned and the other on a Rozante 77. Not sure of the weights because my scale battery had tanked.

It was Dink Day at Ray Roberts - Isle Du Bois

I hooked seven about this size, landed five in roughly 68 minutes before it was time to meet the lady for lunch. Good times.

Alabama rig ruled the day today. Water temp @ 60 degrees. Air temp 44. Caught 5 in about four hours.

This 5.22 lber was the best of the lot.

I got out on the water with @galyonjyesterday, i headed downstream in search of striper . That didn’t pan out so we tried a cove and got a couple decent bass in short order. He got his on a wacky rig purple worm and I got mine on the xzone lures whiplash shad, and boy did he eat it! Thanks for great looking baits @Jim Van Ryn3-B2-FC812-BD1-B-4-F3-E-85-E9-3-B70117-C9-C8641-C6-AD39-48-BD-BB0-A-E21572-EAEBB

Welp, thought my 3lber I posed from last weekend was a great catch for my particular lake.  I have no idea what to expect from this lake now and I'm throwing all advice I've been given about the lake and expected size out the window. So far its all been dead wrong.

New PB at 5lbs 1oz. She's looking a bit skinny too.

Thats a very nice looking oriole. As a lifetime oriole fan its just a big downer with the birds.

With a lockout coming this spring i dont know if i will live to see the orioles win another world series or break 80 wins in a season.

Show my face once in a while, man I’m getting old ???, but still kicking. Torn between hitting some golf balls or go fishing with only an hour of sunlight left. I’m glad i went fishing with this only bass.

Thanks. My daughter got me that hat for my birthday in September. Wore it bowhunting when I killed a 5 pointer.

I was born in 1960. I grew up watching some great Orioles teams. It’s been painful the last 20 years or so other than a couple seasons under Showalter. I saw the O’s beat the Phils in the WS in ‘83. I may not see another.

I was stationed in adak alaska during the 83 series.

Friends and i went trout fishing to a creek that sunday and i was determinded to listen to the game on armed forces radio  network.

We trudged 2 miles to the creek walking on soft wet tundra all the while i was carrying my 80,s boombox listening to the game.

I was estatic when they won while my friends couldnt

understand why i was going nuts with joy.

Losing the 79 series to the pirates just killed me as a teenager so this 83 series wiped all that away.

Took a buddy with me to the little lake I fished from my kayak last week. I talked it up, so I was really hoping it wouldn't disappoint. It was maybe a tiny bit more difficult than last week, but the bright full moon, no wind or clouds most of the day probably had a lot to do with that. We still put over 50 fish in the boat, along with a handful of baby wipers, a few crappie, a big bluegill, and a monster redear sunfish. Ned rig and jerkbaits ruled the day again, but Jon caught several on a Keitech also. My biggest of the day inhaled my jerkbait so hard my rod jumped in my hands on the pause.

Probably 6-10 of them like this throughout the day, we just decided not to take pictures of them.

I know this isn't huge compared to what they can be, but Kansas doesn't manage sunfish at all, so I get pretty excited to catch a big sunfish regardless of flavor. It was right at 10" and chomped a Ned rig.

Thanks for letting me take a break from my deathbed to tag along!

I only wish the bass I caught was as big as the first look at its mouth made us think it was. ?

Can't beat the views, though. Especially if you go for hours just off the main channel and don't see another boat.

Winter finally dropped on us tonight, and the north winds made it wicked once night fell. My buddy struck 1st with a scrappy little bass, but that was all the gods would grant him. I struck out with LM, but the Pickerel were biting. They fight hard in 48* water, so no complaints here.
