Mike Iaconellie would hold that fish up and run back and forth in his boat from bow to stern hollering "Its a GIANT! Its a GIANT!" He'd put that one in his live well for weigh in!

Why do I have no problem believing that?

Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Had my boss and his son over today . Primary goal was bream. The 2nd bream Alex hooked , as he had it almost to the dock , a bass clobbered the bream and he hooked the bass right in the corner of the

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

I have one rule here - treat others with respect.  If a person can't do that, then they're quickly shown the door.  And that rule is strictly enforced.

Don't let past experiences ruin your future experiences.  You've found a new home.  Now enjoy it.

Well...ok....2 rules. The other is No Spamming...at all...in any way whatsoever.

So now that we're good, let's get back to showing off those catches - big and small!!

Exactly. @Glenn and the mods keep fools from ruining Bass Resource.

BTW, my recently deceased father was the great and imperial King of Tonga and he left $52,000,000.000 USDdollars in gold to me and I....

@MN Fisher: Your bass is impressive. I scratch my head and wonder, "How did he hook that?"

Very Carefully! ;)

Actually was using small inline spinners for panfish but this little devil decided he was hungry.

Another thing you can do is simply undersize your estimations.

This is why I often post a photo of the fish laying on a board with a clear length.  No disputing how big the fish is.

Most social media is a toxic soup of misinformation.  I avoid it like the plague and so should others.

I especially liked @Jar11591's response, so I messaged him to tell him that and also told a story that I think is worth repeating:

We all do get excited and overestimate. I used to musky fish with a woman who landed a fat 54-incher, which was a HUGE musky, but she got the girth wrong when she first shared her catch, posting an impossible girth, and then, even though she had photographic proof, she was mocked. It hurt her, just as BluegillTightlines was hurt, at the very moment both should have felt nothing but joy. Here's that fish:

MuskieFIRST | Let's Talk BIG Muskies! » General Discussion » Muskie Fishing

Then, when she was speaking at a musky expo, a drunk guy in the rear of the audience was claiming that he'd caught her fish. He was in the boat, but he hadn't caught it. Again, what should have been a proud moment was curdled by the attention-grabber.

I have seen that picture before. It was a very impressive photo showing the girth & overall size of a very thick fish. Was it published in Musky Hunter?

Greetings from the city of Ottawa! It was a perfect Labour Day for some wet-wade fishing with light spinning tackle.

@BluegillsTightlines … social media is a cesspool.  Keep posting your pics here though, please - we want to see them and hear your stories.👍🏻

Like this beautiful, fine specimen I caught today on a frog.  We named her Anna… Anna Rexia.🤪  She had the head and length of a 4+, but probably weighed 2.5#

It might have been published in "Musky Hunter." It made the rounds. She was pretty well known.

A pleasant day on the The River today, but not a very productive one.  On a stretch that is typically better for size than for numbers, I didn't get much of either, with just seven smallies in 6 hours between 10" and 12". No pics because I kept waiting for at least one keeper-sized bass that never bit.

So here are some sandhill cranes instead:

One of the reasons I went to that, too. Makes it easy. One stop photo for myself to keep track of the quality of fish I'm catching, and others to see how long the fish is. No more selfies with the fish half or barely visible.

Labor day weekend dink fest

bas001.jpg.b3f071d9e0d87da84b69dd1c12a06ce8.jpg

Started out Thursday fishing the nastiest grassiest urban duck pond with a buddy, managed one on a 2.5" mayor just before sunrise fishing the only tiny bit of open water.

bas002.jpg.dec67fbdda6c9d4bf816eb2b146c5e17.jpgbas003.jpg.414c6e355d284d8f810b28f4bfb36f1c.jpgbas003-02.jpg.91c2107ca6f364c9c171e8b9a352a7d6.jpg

Friday AM on the river, bite started slow but I picked up a couple swimbait eaters in the dark. 2nd fish absolutely inhaled the mayor, thankfully hook wasn't in the gills, fish was fine.

Always meeting interesting characters on the bank, this guy wanted to know why I was letting fish go after I caught them so I explained the concept of catch and release, as well as limits/legal sizes/fishing licenses.

Sunday and Monday I fished the forebay just to see how the early season striper were acting

Caught about 50 of the baby size Karashi eaters, wasn't taking pics just shaking them off with pliers

One last forebay bass for good measure

Hey @TnRiver46 and @Peacedivision…. good fishing!  But how do you guys post so many photos?  I have to shrink mine to max. 2mb total pics, so they’re very grainy and four is about the most I can post.  Definitely can’t post any video. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I download images from my google photos on desktop, images are only about 100kb to start and sometimes I have to add them to the post in batches. They still get super compressed on upload, just is what it is I guess.

@N Florida Mike showed me the secret. You can go to the top right of the menu and select member photos. You can then upload them (into albums or without albums). Then at the bottom of a regular post, select other media and find them listed in gallery images.

I also use a image posting website but if you’ve got more than two or 3 pictures, the first option is faster

Fishing is picking up with every cool night but with the fog coming off the water I can't get on plane early 😞 but later it lifted to bluebird skies.

Caught 14 this morning,

1 on a spinnerbait and 13 on a Junebug TRD.PXL_20250827_115422034.jpg.ac560adba63083c913a265c5e21c5190.jpgPXL_20250902_142846056.jpg.fdfd4c5ff7e33193fdedf5cf9ffe9186.jpgPXL_20250902_135943867.jpg.c8359866e74a614777155fcff70e249e.jpg

The girl at the marina told me this morning that they've had a steady parade of Amish coming through buying licenses since the warden explained those concepts to a whole pontoon of them, while writing their citations last Saturday.

Caught 5 the last hour before sunset. I think it was 3 on the june bug fluke, and 2 on the junebug speed worm… Fished the pockets in the grass/algae near home again with no success at first. I made  it to the closest deeper hole down the lake, caught 3 there and 2 in pockets close by.

Caught 4 yesterday.  Reminds me of what John Steinbeck wrote:  "Any man who puts his intelligence up against a fish and loses had it coming."
