I knew exactly what it was when I hooked it too.  It went on a torpedo run from left to right.  I let out some profanity.

Hopefully it's not a sign of things to come.  I don't need to be getting into these slime bags all of the sudden.

I hear ya @gimruis. I pulled my bait away from a couple small muskie this morning. They're a PITA to deal with. The bigger fish were having fun taunting me. Eight hot follows into the 8, right on the bait, zero hookups. They would follow through a turn or two then bail. Clear water is making it tough to get bit. In order to even get 'em chasing, I'm having to burn that .22 Short just as fast as I can stand to crank it with an 8 speed Tranx 400. Fortunately no heart breakers, but I did have a nice low 40's take a swipe at it and miss this morning. I think I need to pick up some big bass cranks to show 'em.

At least it didn't take your lure. I've already lost a few Jackhammers and countless swim jigs to these dang things this year. I will say, I do enjoy catching the big girls, though.

Bomb casted a mini magic worm on a weighted 3/0 swimbait hook - 20 lb braid to 8 lb leader (had just happily landed a 4+ lb LMB out of the rock bed), and this beast couldn't resist it - was thankful for a good leader knot and drag, because a few folks gathered to watch after hearing the drag go zzz zzzzz :). Held it for a sec to smile for the camera, and back in they went - though I had some 'eater' comments from the peanut gallery. (28.25")

I'll never be disappointed when I catch one of these guys when I'm messing around fishing for anything that will bite.

I’m no T-Billy, but I caught my first tiger musky yesterday!! I was so exited that I forgot to measure, weigh, or even take a decent picture… but here he is. I’d say about 30-35”. Awesome fish. IMG_7057.jpeg.27bc70fdb5cbb3da552180ec3dcfe3e5.jpeg

35 inch tiger is a quality fish. They don’t get nearly as big as a pure strain. A 35 inch tiger is about the equivalent of a 45 inch pure strain muskie.

I lived in Merrimack for 1 year, the river and railroad tracks ran 75 yards from our backyard, i always walked the tracks along the river and wondered what kinda fish were in there. I was in my Harley Davidson phase of life after just gettin out of the service and wasnt into fishing at that time.

Lots of big carp amongst other fish in the Merrimack. But these are from Charles River. That dirty water. A lot prestigious institutions round here:

I've been on a roll this year with the crappie. I got this one on a Pop-R cast straight out from the bank.

They were chewin this morning. Chunky little 30.75" absolutely smoked a mid Medussa, and the 39.75" came on one of my homemade double 8's. I also lost one around 40" on the spinner, because I'm a dummy. I tried horsing it into the net with it's head out of the water, and it shook off. I know better, but did it anyway because... I'm a dummy. 😂🤦‍♂️

I also had a mid 40's smoke my spinner about 15' from the boat, in about 3' of water. It was an awesome bite to watch, but it didn't turn and I had to set the hook with the fish coming straight at me. I didn't get a good hookup and it came unbuttoned after a few big head shakes. So... 2 for 4 today.

I had 8 other follows including another mid 40's. I found the bigger fish way in the back of a couple bays that have creeks entering them. Things are setting up like they were last August when I started chasing these slimy critters, so I'm hoping this deal is gonna hold up for awhile.

I ran around and hit some other stuff today and eliminated a bunch of water. I feel like I have a solid game plan for tomorrow morning. 🤞
