Hey guys, I've said this before but it's worth noting again.  The ENTIRE fishing industry - salt water, fresh water, fly fishing, etc - have been, and continue to experience severe shortages and delays.  From product production to shipping, there are bottlenecks everywhere, particularly for products made overseas. But even made in the U.S.A. products are experiencing raw material shortages.

I know of several companies that are back ordered through July.

Retailers like TW, BassPro, Cabela's, Academy, Dicks, etc. are screaming at various brands to deliver products, but it's a complex issue.  Covid is to blame.

Everyone in the industry is hoping Covid will be corralled soon so they can catch up and get back to normal, but as long as outbreaks continue, the recovery - and fishing industry - will continue to experience setbacks.

Just wanted to drop in and say hi to you all. I'm not as active 'round these parts anymore. Haven't bought anything in about 5 month. Haven't had the boat out in almost 5 months. Really sucks, but it'

It's not just fishing, it's EVERYTHING!!! My parents own a small Mom & Pop grocery store in our little town of 1,600. They are having a hard time keeping the shelves stocked, and it's not because business is booming, rather the lack of supplies.

Here in Vegas we get 1 day shipping.  If I order by 12pm, I would get it the next day.  There was a period where it was taking over a week.  My last 2 orders took 1 day.  I placed an order today and the ETA said the 13th I believe.

Strange...don't think I've had one take that long

I’ve gone custom pour/injection with all my soft plastics. I get exactly what I want down to the flake, quality, no more expensive, and help the little guy. After three years, we’ve developed a friendship of sorts.

Now that I’ve placed my order ? I figured I’d mention Bass Pro has their spring sale and they have the Garmin Echomap 93SV UHD on sale for $599. This is the GT-54 transducer, nevertheless it’s a smoking deal. I’m glad I waited to get my second one.

Oh, express shipping was free so it says it’ll be here Monday.

I picked up a bunch of 1/2 oz. Red Eyed Shad from BPS for $3.99, lots left for now. The 1/2 oz. are cheaper than the 1/4 oz. for some reason.

I’m going there next Friday so I’m planning on picking a few of them up then. I wasn’t going to wait on the Echomap though.

KTP has a code for 17% off right now (Megabass included...and yes they have Levantes in stock).  Of course, after the $13 shipping charge they are only like $20 off.  It's something though!

Were all the 1/2 oz shads on sale?  Here in Vegas they only had 2 colors on sale and they were Baby Carp and Albino Craw.

I got them shipped from their site and they had a lot of colors available, I got 9 different colors and there was at least 15 available at that time. I got enough of them and a few other things to put me over $50 to qualify for the free express shipping.

Edit: Still (29) 1/2 oz. different colors available online at the time of this post.

I got in line at 8:30 this morning. About 30 people in front of me and another 15-20 behind me by the time they opened the doors at 9. I figured it was a mixture of ammo grabbers and Spring Classic doorbusters. Much to my surprised, every person in front of me (minus maybe 2) walked straight to the marine electronics counter. Even mix of people getting 2, getting 1 and a Livescope, or getting 1). For a second I was a little worried everyone in front of me would get 2 and they'd run out.

The employees said they had 75, I don't imagine they lasted past 10am. Could've bought it online but I had a Giftcard and it's 3 miles down the road from me. I was home by about 9:15.

I'll be upgrading my console graph from a echomap 73 plus SV to a echomap 93 UHD SV. Keeping the echomap 93 plus SV up front, since I only use it for 2d sonar and it will still work with Livescope if I ever bite the bullet.

That’s exactly why I wasn’t waiting around. I knew I’d be SOL.

For those of you who have a sportsman’s warehouse close by they have a 25 percent off sale on all Yamamoto, Strike King, Googlygans and some other bass related products.  Your welcome.

FYI:

Went to Academy Sports and bought 6 red eye shad for $3.79 a piece since they price match bass then beat it by 5%

Good tip!!

if you are buying $50 worth another option is go to DSG and get $10 off after doing a previous purchase and a survey.

But the academy deal is really hard to beat!

1/4 oz. selection is terrible also.

I’m pretty set on tackle. Only needed to replenish a few things I use the most. A small amount of terminal tackle was easy to order up. Jumped on board to try some new plastics with a site sponsor. Feel real good about them.  A few new Rapala crankbaits version are on their way now. Should have them midweek. Got my bulk spools of line. Luckily not hard pressed for anything.

But to your point you are correct. I’ve noticed where I purchase my stuff there is no stock and no back ordering of very very common items and colors. I’m a Yankee and my bass fishing hard will kick in in a little while. But a lot of you guys more south it is kicking in now and a few of these place do not have the goods. BPS is a dog and pony show these days. They are nothing compared to what they were years ago. Referring to decent tackle suppliers. Some claim DICKS carries a lot. But may be regional thing. I believe it is a Covid thing. It is highly unlikely that Zoom Trick worms in Watermelon Red Fleck Magic is the hottest thing in the world right now. But I do believe that production rates at a place like Zoom and others were effected my Covid and not being essential workers.

My haul for the week. Hit the Spring Classic.

Garmin echomap UHD 93 sv

St. Croix Mojo Bass 7’1” MF

Shimano Curado 200HG 7.4:1

Also go a couple SK redeye and some tackle organizers.

May go back for a bit more tackle and some braid.

For people who live in Michigan.  North woods which, is a gigantic fishing (mainly) and hunting store in Pinconning Mi, has some good deals going.  Those who don’t know north woods started out as an out let that bought up overstocked fishing stuff or from stores that have went out of business.  However, they still buy overstocked stuff but, have moved to also buying a boat load of new tackle at a time

I bought 10 packs of Gamakatsu 4/0 off set worm hooks for $1.00 a piece. They had hundreds of packs left in 2/0-4/0  They also have some other bass tackle on sale like Berkley power swimmers $2.99.

Siebert Outdoors has jackhammers for 12 bucks.

Sportsmans Outfitters has Duckett rods on sale up to 27% off and just restocked on em.

I had an awful experience with this line but there are definitely others who had the opposite, anyways fisherman's source have P line tatical fluorocarbon 8lb 1000 yds for 59.99.
