Only 13-Fishing prod I own is the Concept C and I gotta say it's an excellent reel. Good to hear similar about the A2.

This will be my first A2...mine are original A's. A2 is essentially an original A with brass gears instead of aluminum, and a hook keeper 👍

Just wanted to drop in and say hi to you all. I'm not as active 'round these parts anymore. Haven't bought anything in about 5 month. Haven't had the boat out in almost 5 months. Really sucks, but it'

Thumbs up on the hook keeper for sure. My C is Aluminum gearing, but has help up very well. Also light at ~6 oz and casting length is right there with my Aldebaran. Enjoy the A2. I'd like to hear your thoughts after some time.

If you're like me and it's close to new trailer tire time.

Walmart, of all places, is currently running a decent deal on the Provider model by Taskmaster.

13 Fishing Concept A2 $79 @ Bass Pro (msrp $180). I bought a couple 5.6's and 6.8's.

although I don’t need one if they have any left when I go next week I just may give in to the tackle monkey.

I gave in to the tackle monkey, 5.6 and a 7.5:1 ordered.

I almost pulled the trigger twice in the last month as at least my local BPS has had them on sale that long. I’ve been able to keep the monkey at bay as I don’t really need another reel but we all know how that goes.

West Marine has a bunch of sunglasses on sale. I just ordered a pair of Costa Tuna Alley with 580G lenses for 142.49

BPS sale got me,  Suffix 832 for 19.98$ for 300 yd, picked up a couple of spools for that price.

Also got Suffix Elite Mono for 7.78 for a 330 yd spool, use that for leaders.h

Absolutely love the tuna’s!

Afraid I missed a good Ollies run….found some new stock out our local Ollies, and found one single lucky craft lure. I’ve been battling with this older fella, and I think he just left the single lucky craft as his “calling card.” I’ll get you next time, old timer.

Supposedly there was some Keitech, Lucky Craft and I’m sure a bit more.

When I walk out if Ollie's here with lures, I guarantee they are colors I've never seen before and never will again.

The only thing our local Ollies ever has is expired Oreos and a ton of adult diapers. The Oreos are still good if you dunk them in milk, but the diapers have left a little to be desired…not good for an all day trip…

Absolute steal if you like the grey lenses. Some models are $95 with glass lenses!

Not going there Glenn! lol

My Ollie's always has something interesting and cheap too! I make it a point to stop by if I am passing by Ollie's just to see what they might have for a cheapskate like me.

I just texted my 12 year old son this one since he is so into saltwater fishing this would be a good one to use around bridge pilons to jig it around structure. Grouper and other would be all over this- whatever it is. Looks like an octopus and comes with 10 ink tablets to make this thing try and appear natural I suppose. I wonder if bass would eat it?

Now my kid wants one in every color.

I have said quite a bit on the forum here that pawn shops are also a great place to find tackle. A pawn shop near me has a pile of old wood lures still in brand new condition in original packages and no pricing on them. Make it up as you go along. Just offer them a couple of bucks and its yours. Make a deal. I got one for $3.00 just to be nice. I was going to offer $2 but did not want to tick them off into telling me $5.

This place always over prices their rods and reels. Waaaaay over prices them.

A pawn shop secret is to look for rods and reels in national brand chains of pawn shops. Those stores are willing to haggle on prices.

But pawn shops owned by mom and pop and its their only store- beware. They make their entire income off just that one store only. And so they tend to jack up the prices as high as they can and are less willing to haggle them down.

Man I definitely have had that experience more than the alternative, but I have gotten lucky a time or two and got some decent stuff. No clue where they find these places to buy out...

I stocked up on Sufix 832 too. They were already out of the 300 yard spools though, so I had to settle for the smaller ones. $9.98 for each spool after the 45% off spring sale.

Save 50% on Berkley’s new fluorocarbon, GinClear.
