@MeatHead1313 thank you for the info. in regard to what will and what will not be part of the Tackle Warehouse BF sales. I appreciate you sharing that info. as I would not have known about Shimano typically being excluded from sales.

Are there other brands that fall into that same category ? (ie, not typically included in sales)

Thank you

No worries. Usually it's Daiwa, Shimano, G. Loomis, Megabass and St Croix. There may be others that I can't think of off the top of my head,  those are just the ones I look at most and hope actually go on sale lol. Most retailers will have a list of exceptions when they post the sales.

I realize this isn't exactly "tackle" - but was curious if anyone knew from past Black Fridays if any retailers offered sales on trolling motors?

Yessir. Funny I see this as I'm stripping my setups down for the year 😢. I have the 7'3 H. I like it a lot. Stripped down, nothing fancy (hence the name, Naked). Just an overall solid rod. I think I got a deal on mine ($150). I've used this rod for swim jigs in heavier grass, buzzbaits and toads.

As far as that 704 cranking rod, I don't see that on their site or anywhere else. And it say extra-fast. Are you sure it's a cranking stick? Their crankbait rods are mod-fast.

My mistake, it's just a 704 casting rod...

Anyone seeing good Garmin deals yet? Need a 9” uhd2, lvs34 and the black box.

  • Super User

Last year Bass Pro had some stellar deals on Garmin units and LVS 32/34 units in the BF flyer.   A neighbor got his 12" and LVS 34 during that sale.

Daiwa has been part of the TW sales for years. They didn’t show the 20% off until after purchase in years past but the final invoice reflected it.

I believe I got a Daiwa product every year since at least 2018 until this year - ALF had 25% off and I had some points to use but I am still waiting on some reels

Ya - I took advantage of that. Add in the 25% 'rebate' gift card from a St Croix purchase I made this summer and I paid $80 for a Tat-100.

I am new to the fishing community/forum -- this has been a very informative thread -- I do have a question in regard to what seems a new BF sales process for Tackle Warehouse --

-if an item is currently on "Clearance" for the older model of a reel (example - Shimano Stradic - $179) and there is a newer model listed on the site as well (example - Shimano Stradic - $219) -- will the "Clearance" model also be part of the "BF Weeklong Sale for reels" ? (my guess is the sale will be 20% off of Shimano reels ?) -- which would put the older model at approx. $143 and the newer model at approx. $175 -- or if the "Clearance" reel is NOT part of the "BF Weeklong Sale for reels" then the newer model would actually come in less than the older "Clearance" model ($175 new, $179 "Clearance") -- caveat is the older model seems to have significantly more positive reviews than the newer model

-it does seem they are having a "Clearance Item Sale" in January once all the other sales are complete -- so it might mean I need to take the chance that the older reel will still be available at that time to get the higher rated model at the lowest price (I am in no rush to get the reel as winter will be roaring into MN any day now -- so if I have to wait until January to get the right deal then that is what I will need to do)

Thank you for reading my stream of thought post and thank you in advance for any info./suggestions.

Apparently reels will go on sale this Wednesday, starting at 9AM PT. Since they’re already advertising a separate future sale for clearance items, I doubt they’ll be included in the sale coming Wednesday. Easy way to find out is add items to cart & see or call them & ask.

NOTE TO ALL: Military discount is NOT applicable to ALL items. If an item is not applicable, it should note that in your cart.

Amazon currently has several models of the JDM Miravels on sale for $98-$106

American Legacy Fishing has the Daiwa Fuego LT spinning reel at 50% off (now at $54.99, I believe this is only for the 4000 size)

Daiwa Fuego LT Spinning Reels - American Legacy Fishing, G Loomis Superstore

I have never used a Daiwa reel so I figure this is a good chance to give one a try at a reasonable price, so I will order one.

This may be the first winter that I don’t think I need anything for my kayak. It’s a strange feeling.

@RipzLipz -- thank you for the heads up on the Tackle Warehouse sale with the reels going on sale today - to my surprise (and happiness) the Shimano Stradic that was listed as a Clearance Item (for $179) is actually part of the reel sale - so I was able to order a 2500 for $139.

Seems to be a decent price.

Dicks sporting goods has old gen Daiwa Procyon AL spinning reels 2500 and 3000 size for $85.  Regular price is $200.  I have 6 of these reels and they are very solid!  Note they are aluminum and thus heaver than their other LT models.

@WaskaCrank12,

No problem. I’m glad you were able to get what you wanted with the extra discount from the sale price. They’re being a bit odd with what they’re putting on sale versus what is not on sale IMO. Seems easiest just to log in & add applicable items to cart & make sure all discounts are being applied.

Although I know nothing about electronics as I don’t have a need for them the sales at Dicks seem pretty good at these prices.IMG_2497.png.2395f9f95e8e8fdedb2f4a90140559d3.pngIMG_2496.png.12e219123a99466cdd04bba63bc05aad.png
