Date night #nokid produced a few small bass and a snot rocket. The highlight of the night was this friendly critter who gave us quite the show and didn’t mind our presence. I can’t take credit for the photo, Mrs. 12poundbass took this one. 
 

My friend and I decided to play a little street ball with the young kids. We smoked them but we both ended up beat up and will probably feel this one for a few days. #gettingoldsucks

I woke up to a sprained ankle. This is my first time in my almost 38 years on this rock having a sprained ankle. No sympathy from Mrs. 12poundbass, she’s just laughing and saying “that’s why you don’t play basketball with 12-13 year olds. ?

I could beat my dad at 13, but 14, I grew 3 inches that summer and lost my coordination.  

ps - my dad played basketball at Memphis St before that meant anything.

And I'm the old man? Choose your battles wisely. I'll shine during a pick up game against 4 year old's but that's my limit.

Gonna say I'm 38 which isn't old but old enough to pick the fights I get into. City court against some high schoolers...not a chance. Now you get me on the indoor court in a dodge ball game against 3rd graders and kids are getting beat down.

Little kids can't dodge a wrench or a ball..hence the dodge ball with 3rd graders 

Went fishing yesterday. I was only out there a couple of hours. But a nice day for fishing.

I’m not sure why but whenever I post a photo, it’s always sideways. But when I post in my album it’s regular. These are all photos taking vertically with an iPhone 7.

Every bird hunter, if he's lucky, will find a once-in-a-lifetime package of breeding, talent and pure pluck in a canine partner. Bullit (AKA Bayou Bullit, my good ol' boy from Alabam) was mine.

 

He was taken from me too soon, tragically, on his birthday when 14 months old while I was in Alabama with him for a hunt. But whenever I think of him, I like to remember this photo of him as a pup as we caught a little shuteye together on the back patio after a busy morning.

 

He took a piece of my heart when he left me that I've never regained.
