I always thought of myself as a finesse fisherman, but reality is that my style is more power finesse. 
 

What you will see in my boat for presentations is 3/16 and 1/4 ounce sliders, swing head jigs, Ned rig, spinnerbaits, squarebills, jerkbaits, shallow cranks, lipless, deep cranks, swim jigs, and spy baits. Probably the Ned and Spy baits are my only true finesse baits. 
 

What you won’t see are Neko rigs, wacky rigs, senkos, heavy bass jigs, heavy worm weights, heavy spinnerbaits. 
 

This puts a lot of fish in the boat for me. I carry 2-3 spinning rigs and 3-5 baitcasters.

Power fisherman here. I really want to get into finesse fishing and I have everything to finesse fish I just haven’t brought myself to slow down.

All depends on my mood at the moment - and yes, it can change rapidly at times.

 

Some days I've stuck to one mode - power, moderate, finesse - other days I'm like a bouncing ball...never sticking to one for more than 30-40 minutes at a time.

However, the pressured lakes I fish make it finesse often.  I only really find myself power fishing when the conditions call for it such as a front moving in, overcast low pressure, or windy conditions.  Most of the time I am fishing a finesse rig, pitching plastics, or dragging something slow in deep water.

My fishing style depends on what I am fishing for and what I feel like doing on any particular day. I am comfortable power fishing as I am ultra light fishing. 

My style is based on the season. I will slow down to the most finesse presentations in the winter if that’s what it takes to catch them. Right now, I’m throwing Chatterbaits 80% of the time. Ponds I fish have a lot of smaller bass and I’ve found Chatterbaits and Fogy’s target the bigger bass. Fishing a ned rig increases the action but I catch 10 dinks for every one decent fish. 

My style is "whatever the conditions present to me"

Depends who you ask, if its my friends then I'm the bass master 3000 but if you ask my girlfriend who fishes with me and usually out fishes me then I'm the dink whisper.... She right 99% of the time.

Any given day I might be fishing a 7" glide bait, set it down to skip a wacky rigged senko under a dock, then pitch a jig at it, throw a topwater over some rocks, then root a crankbait through those rocks. If I have 8 rods on the deck, then I'm dialed in ?

Same here, I am just trying to catch fish and I will try just about anything.

Once the boat comes down off of plane the first thing I grab is a Texas Rig, Wacky Rig, Shaky Head, Weightless T-rig, Carolina Rig, Jig-N-Craw, Mojo Rig, Rage Rig, Drop Shot or anything that takes me to the bottom.

 

I'm gonna be casting, flipping, pitching, punching, hopping, dragging, shaking, dead sticking, or skipping.

 

I don't care if its grass, brush, timber, rocks, docks, pads, lay downs, shore line or off shore.

 

I don't care if its pre- spawn, spawn, post spawn, summer, dog days, fall, winter, morning, noon, or night.

 

Give me 2 rod-n-reels with any of the above techniques & I be happy, happy, happy!

Power finesse here. I'll pitch a 1/8 to 1/4 oz baby brush hog 90 percent of the day. When I get on the boat with 6 rods 5 are going to be Texas rigs

Power here, but if I really want/need to catch fish ( bass ) then as a last resort I'll go to finesse..

 

  In this day & age when everything seems to need a 'name',

my style of bass fishing routinely revolves around the basses food;

just about all season long.

I guess I'm a "Bait Hunter".

As far a presentation & techniques are concerned,

anything goes.

(except the Old Ball & Chain, I hate that thing)

I can go from 3oz swimbait to 2 grams lure in a pinch. I do have more gears for ultra light and finesse than power fishing. I sold my big swimbait gears early the year and might sell the remaining soon.

I like dragging the bottom the best, but like jerkbaits top water and rattle trap too

While I'm quite capable with cranks, spinnerbaits, senkos, neds and various top water techniques, most often I'm going to force feed those bass a jig. If the bite is tough or I'm in a friend's boat ill use whatever the situation dictates, but I'm just not happy unless I'm pitching a jig. Unlike most fishermen, I do not require numbers or size to enjoy fishing so the majority of the time I'm quite content doing what makes me happy. Force feeding those suckers a jig!

 

A funny thought occurred to me as I was writing this. In the last 2 years I've caught 7 or 8 bass in the 4+ pound range... only 1 of those was on a jig.

Guess im a junk fisherman.  I usually just kinda meander around trying what I think should work til something clicks. I prefer to fish a jig or a jerkbait but I will throw whatever it takes. If I have a ton of rods out im struggling.  Really enjoy dialing something in and putting everything away except a rod or 2.

So question for the Junk fishermen on here. Do you all pretty much carry and throw everything from a ultra finesse to heavy power fishing, or do you have a range?

 

On the water I do what it takes to get done, but the whatever it takes excludes a few presentations. So technically a junk fisherman within the power finesse range of baits. There are just certain techniques like the Neko, DS, and Senko I don’t have the patience to fish.

Hmm...

I often fish a jig even when I know something else would be a better choice.

Moving lures are always a part of my program, but I struggle not fishing a

Senko or Fat Ika in shallow water, just can't get them off my mind.  Currently

my top producing baits are the GYCB Kreature, Rage Menace and Siebert
