Which jig heads do you use for shaky head?

Featured Replies

I’ve been using Spot Remover jig heads from Walmart and they work, but goodness the hooks are absolute garbage. I had some Luck-E-Strike jig heads that I got from somewhere I can’t remember and they are decent. I’m looking to expand on my brands of jig heads and we’re wondering what y’all use?

I've had good luck on the Owner Screw Lock heads. Well made and very good quality hooks.

Owner Ultraheads - screw-lock holds the plastic well and the hooks are top-notch.

I'm another fan of the owner ultra shakey heads. For elaztech, I like to use the berkley fusion ones. Their keeper works well with zman baits.

I like the VMC Ike Rugby heads

Owner Ultraheads are the only ones I use. They stand up when you hop them, have a great hook, come through structure wonderfully, and have a keeper that keeps plastics pinned and straight

Seibert Outdoors Tungsten with the screw lock.  I’ve caught a bunch of fish on them.  Do yourself a favor and try them. Top tier product.

I get cheapie ball head jigs at wal mart. 1/4 oz or lighter, never heavier (I’m bank bound).  Screw head or not doesn’t matter to me honestly. I kinda get tired of dealing with screwing it on. Destroys my worm if you get snagged/bites/catch fish.  But I have some Big Bites ball heads left as well. Their bait keeper is little and I kinda like it. You can actually change the worm out without wasting one.

I use David Dudley’s stand up jig. I can’t remember the name of the manufacturer. Walmart quit carrying them in my area though .

Perfection Lures I think

Picasso uses Gamakatsu hooks, good quality about $3.75 per 3 pkg. Ball head shaky standup up or Football shaky stand up heads, painted.

Tom

Frenzy Baits.

Strike King tour grade, and Owner Ultraheads.

Looks like you’ve got a solid lineup @NavyVet1204, but I’ll throw the ones I’m partial to into the fray just to keep it interesting

Mega strike

They land and don’t fall on their side and you can rock them without moving the jig.

*Take a pair of needle nose pliers and gently bend the hook point out 1 or 2 degrees for better hook ups with Spot Remover jig heads . They are a great shakey head jig head used with finesse worms .

My go to Shaky Heads are the Buckeye Spot Remover Pro, Magnum, and Wide Gap and haven't had a hook problem yet. I own 3 -4 other brands but lean to the Buckeyes most days that I'm able to pickup locally because I find myself donating them to the lake bottom often.

Secret Lures Ledge Shaker, Gammy hooks and Have a keeper that actually keep the plastics on. Has a divot the helps your worms stand up easily.
