What is your favorite soft plastic and how do you rig it?

Featured Replies

I’m thinking bottom contact baits here but what bait do you use the most and how do you rig it?  I’d be interested in hearing what your preferences are for weights/size and hooks also.

Favourite is always a plastic worm of some sort, lightweight t rig.

Rage Menace T-rigged on a Gamakatsu 3/0 EWG/ 3/16 Nako bullet weight.

4" Rage Craw on a 3/4" Ounce Football Jig.  That combo is deadly for me but I will admit, I am a football jig addict.

Missle bait...D bomb and baby D bomb...1/2 Oz Tungsten with trokar flippin hook

It's also great with a spider skirt welded to it and fished on an Arky or Football jig.

Also my Chatterbait trailer of choice when I'm fishing it along the bottom.

Great read, thanks! You mentioned you're a big fan of the Owner Oval Split ring to the front line tie. May I ask what size and why? Thanks!

That RPE Tungsten head 'moves' a little on the rig used to hold the hook.

On the front, it seems to 'pinch' the area of the knot that comes in contact with the head.  Adding the oval split ring eliminates that.

Size 2 on the 1/2 oz and size 3 on the 3/4

All of em Texas Rigged ?

River Rock tube on a 1/4oz tube jig.

Either a Zoom Baby Brush Hog or an Ultra Vibe Speed Craw. I rig either one on a 2/0 offset shank round bend hook with an 1/8 ounce sinker most of the time. With worms hook size varies depending on the size of the worm.

KVD game hawg Texas rigged 3/0 hook and 1/8 or 3/16 tungsten weight

I like a natural colored tube on a north land tube jig for brown bass on rocks, and a either a wacky rigged stick bait or a Texas rigged plastic worm for largies in the weeds.

7 inch Senko, rigged weedless no weight.

10 inch worm, pegged Texas rig.  3/8 tungsten, 4/0 EWG. Or on a 3/8 wobblehead when fishing rocks.

I did an article for Yamamoto titled “78 Ways to Rig a Senko” ?. I have branched out since then but it still ranks as the #1 bait I throw.

You got a link to that?
