A Salute To Kent, A.K.A. RoadWarrior

Recommended Posts

Thank you @road warrior. You were one of the reasons I became a serious angler. You helped a complete stranger figure this jigsaw puzzle out.

Enjoy the sunset brother. You deserve it. Three cheers.

Thanks Kent! We are going to miss you!

I feel it’s only appropriate to drop one of Kent’s favorite GIFs here…….

I am happy because retiring is good.

I am sad because Kent is good.

Only 20 years? Dude. 😂 Good on ya, @roadwarrior/Kent.

Been a good ride. You deserve every bit of retirement you get.

You've earned it all and then some. Senkos forever!

Kent is a great guy. He doesn't even know me but he invited me to go smallmouth fishing with him last year.  Not too many people would make that offer.
Unfortunately I was unable to go at the time.

I'll second that - he's sent me a couple 'care packages' of line and lures over the past few years....just out of the blue and the goodness of his heart.

I was going to write something mushy and heart felt, until I figured out he's not dead. LOL

I have had the pleasure of fishing with Kent on several occasions and he is the real deal. On the first road trip to Lake Fork, I enjoyed generous hospitality at his home for an overnight stay and some fantastic BBQ ribs. I was also a part of the famous 5 person, two boats and a dock team that helped land his 8+ bass that won the pool at Guntersville (see MAD magazine for details) LOL. He is a best friend the first time you meet him and I hope to see/hang/fish with him again one day.

God bless you and your retirement.

Ronnie

Yep, that was a crazy catch.  I think I ended up netting it (I'm not sure because we kept passing the net around)

I always think of it as the "Keystone Cops" went bass fishing. Great memories there.

I first came across Kent back on NYBass and eventually made it over to here.  I can think of all the phone calls, PMs, and posts up here, and remember what a kind person he is.  If it weren't for him, I'd have never ended up here.

So, my question now is for Glenn: Who is going to ban the site sponsors now? LOLOLOL, I will never let him live that down.

In all actuality, this was one of Kent's innate skills.  Most members will never know just how much spam crapola they were NOT subjected to because Kent already nailed them.  HE was a sharpshooter in that department.  It used to irritate me when I'd see some spam, and go to get rid of it, only to find out he got to it first.

Retirement is a good thing, it marks the beginning of a new chapter.

Best wishes RW, I’m gonna miss seeing that pic of you holding those monster smallies.

I was lucky enough to meet Kent a couple times and even take him fishing once on one of our local mudholes. Got to enjoy a good day on the water and many great stories. He's always been helpful anytime I had a question when I was a new mod several years ago.

Thanks for everything Kent, I know you're going to be enjoying your retirement to the fullest.
