Probably because you haven’t fished them 🤣🤣🤣 the rod in that picture looks unused. But hey, enjoy the carrot stix, made with real carrots I read once. 🤪

Might work great for you, who knows. I never owned one.

I remember for a while when they came out they were the greatest value in fishing then all of a sudden, kapoof, they were the worst value in fishing. 😆

Congratulations! You clearly have more money than you need…

BWAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!! That is Hilarious Steveo-1969!
I actually have fished them.  I owned 2, then 1,  and now 2 again!!  I have used a Carrot stix wild black as a frog rod for years now and love it.
I think the guy I got this from on Ebay has all the old back stock or something.  We will see how it lasts. lol

I had the OG Carrot Stick back in 2007.  Been several iterations since.  Mine didn't break/blow up like some.

Mine either. My buddy and I each have our old original Carrot Stix from back around that same time period and both are still going fine. Mine is a 6'6" M/MF that I have a Daiwa T3:on throwing Rocket Shads and small cranks. It has been fished hard and is still fine.

I also had a 7' MH/F in the later "Wild Stix" that had the black EVA handle. I fished that a ton and have since given it to my grand-daughters boyfriend who is still using it.

In my opinion,... In all situations the truth lies somewhere in the middle and your results may vary. Some people break lots of rods and other rarely break any.

I understand that there has been a LOT of reported breakage though, so I would be hesitant to spend much on any of them. I can only say that mine have been fine.

Boyd Duckett introduced Carrot Stick rods and within a few years dropped it and introduced his new brand of rods. The Carrot Stick  name was poison after several failures.

Thanks Tom,... Didn't know that. Kind of explains the comments on the Duckett Rods then too about being "White Carrot Stix".

That said... Mine are still working and have been fine. Sounds like they are pretty risky though!

I remember the first ICAST that Carrot Stix debuted at.  In my opinion they unintentionally set the trend that would later turn nearly ever rod into some bright color.

Skeet Reese “Yellow” Lamiglas rods pre dated Ducketts Carrot Stix. The “white” rods Duckett did introduce to the industry.

Very true. The worst business move was the group that bought them and tried to resurrect again after the nose dive. Bad, bad investment…

Wow where did you get that!? I own and STILL use the original carrot stik today! It was my first baitcaster rod. I love it. Never broke once.

WOW, I knew none of that information! That is why this is a great place!

Exactly. I’ve read where people have broke several rods and say such and such is junk. I’ve broke two rods in 30 years of fishing and one was my fault. Just like people that are freaked out over graphite reels. What exactly are you doing with your rods and reels that you’re either breaking them or are paranoid that they’ll break? I don’t get it.

sad, I am not in on the inside joke.   I am at least, "Fringe"..right?

I am not googling orange fishing rod...

I've heard they're great for collectors, no so much for actual users.😂

Breaking a bass rod usually occurs by operator error high sticking and boat flipping bass. The problems with Carrot Stix was random breaking by pro and recreational bass anglers.
