Taking my 84 year old Dad to sister's cabin on a lake. Will be a great time! Sister is making Mom's potato salad, brats on the grill. Good times!!

Started my 4 day weekend today....got some Tbones, pineapple brats and cold beers in the fridge. Planning on cat fishing in the mornings, grilling or smoking the meals and then watching some good summertime movies with my woman while enjoying some adult beverages. Hope you all have a safe holiday surrounded by family and friends.

We’re going to my mother in law’s for a cookout and a pool party. Cookout will be great, pool party………eh. Kids will enjoy it.

  The wife and I are driving the 5.1 miles over to my MILs. I'm gonna grill steaks, taters, and corn. We may swim a bit. When they head to bed, I'm going to the lake.

Strong storms blew down limbs.  I cleaned up my 90 year old neighbor’s yard.  I have a trailer load of limbs to haul off tomorrow.  Then watch the neighborhood kids shoot fireworks tomorrow night.

Mines not so great.

My youngest daughter works at a very busy local restaurant and has many friends there.

She volunteered my services, to change oil in her friends cars tomorrow 😳

 

So all these cars are suddenly needing oil changes when the shops are closed 😔.

Staying home, the places where I fish are just crazy for this holiday. Also the traffic is nuts. Everyone stay safe and have a great holiday.

I’m staying home in the AC. Thought about going fishing early this morning, but I am wore out from work because we have been real busy. Trying to regroup, relax and get refreshed.

Not real far south of you guys and its been a hot couple days down here...heat index yesterday was 102 and today its around 98...looks like tomorrow will be a little better and Sunday morning its gonna be down to 60 so hang in there! 

@DitchPanda that's what I'm seeing here too.  Thunderstorms/rain tomorrow and then much cooler on Sunday and moving forward.

 

These nasty hot humid days usually only last a day or two here and then we get a change.  That's exactly what will be happening tomorrow.

My wife and young'uns and I went down to my buddy's church for a cookout and fireworks.

 

Before going, I checked out a new to me spot that's in the area. A public lake, which has easy access along 2 sides. I worked around about 40 yards of shoreline and got to where someone was fishing with a bobber. I asked if he'd mind if I worked a bush that was about 20 yards to his left. He said sure, he wasn't fishing it. I caught a small bass on the second cast to that bush.

 

 

Fished a few more minutes and then left for the cookout.

 

Great sunset opposite of the church.

 

I decided to swing back by the spot on the way home, about 11:00. I caught 2 more bass, another of that bush. There were a few lights, so easy enough to see. There was 2 guys fishing way on the other side, probably catfishing by the sound of it.

 

All in all, a great day.

I worked a 12hr shift. Double time and a half. Made enough extra to buy a new telecaster. Rock on America!!!
