Straight from Black Dog Baits website. They just sold out of the Custom patterns. I was really hoping for Crappie.

Per @Tizi ‘s request for a report in R2S crankbaits, here are my thoughts. Water temp was 49 degrees and I was chucking them on a 7’3” MH rod with a Curado 7.2:1 reel with 20lb test braid main line and 12lb test fluoro leader. Things cast like a rocket, and had no problem getting down to 18-20 feet and went through sparse grass (hydrilla) without collecting on the lure which seemed to run true. I would have like to had the opportunity to post a pic with the bait in a fish’s mouth, but that didn’t didn’t happen during my day on the delta.

I look forward to throwing them in the future and hearing others opinions as well. Currently, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

So picked up this guy used.  Feels pretty good.  I took it apart today and lubed it.  It was bone dry and it was quite the challenge   Also and I should have taken a picture when I had it apart, the main gear and the pinion looked almost burnt.  I have never seen a reel that looks this spotless and perfect on the outside and look this odd on the inside.  I may have to invest in a new set.  We will see.

Added another spinning setup to the lineup. Hopefull @A-Jay will be happy with me :)

Got the Crucial here in the flea market and found a really good deal on the Stradic. Going to spool it up with some Sufix 20 lb 832 and throw some heavyish (3/16 oz) dropshot or some shakey heads

Nice. Those look awesome.  I have not seen them before. You will have to report back with how well they did.

Dang, I hear the bait monkey calling me again.

My buddy told me about em.  Blade baits work great up here, especially in the Columbia River for smallmouth bass.  Yes, the monkey got me for these too.

I'll be using them soon and will report back.

The newest addition to the fam. Just need to wait til the pads come up again. My TatSV would sit pretty on this stick, but the monkey is whispering "Get the new Tatula Elite Flip Pitch. You know you want it". Bad bad monkey.

Been awhile since I got anything new, but the itch has come back this winter and I made a few orders today:

--Some Fogy bladed jigs and Cosmic spinnerbaits from Siebert Outdoors with some of his new skirt patterns.

--Some misc. blades, heads and other components from Barlows to make some more more jigs, bladed jigs and Spinnerbaits.

--Presidents day sale order from another site for a few keitechs, craws, lipless cranks & jerkbaits, including my first Vision 110...

Got spring on my mind...

I went to the Indy Boat, Sport and Travel Show today and came home with this thing.

At a couple of booths they had any NRX rod for $350 and the Conquest was $425.  I could have gone crazy but one is enough (for now).   They also had the Tatula Elite for $180.  I have to say, it feels exactly like the Steez.  I think it's going to be the next "it" reel.

I did see a guy there that bought 3 NRX's and 2 Conquests.  He said he would add them to the rest of his Loomis NRX and GLX collection> Must be nice.

Also, the guy that talked me into this rod was Ish Monroe.   I didn't recognize him without the Daiwa hat and shirt.  Great guy by the way.

Dang I'm pretty sure I have one of those plugs I could have given you.

I bought two little Flambeau organizers. Instead of having my terminal tackle in a 3600 and all in one kit it would eventually overwhelm, I split it. Now it's broken down by use so if I'm setting up a particular rig it's all in one little box. I'm sure that eventually this will result in a ton of little boxes, but for now it works better and freed up an Edge 3600 for other stuff. I have room for one more little guy in the tackle bag without messing anything else up, so there's still some wiggle room if I add a technique that doesn't fit in the other two.

I've also managed to resist buying more lures and plastics. I've gotten tempted, but resisted. My goal is to resist until it warms up enough to actually do some fishing.

I can send you a pic when I get home from work to see if it’s the right thing. I changed the plug on mine to match the female receptacle that was already in the boat

Were they out of 893? That's the only rod left on my list. I got a custom xray 936 to sub for the 894 nrx. I didnt know they have prices like that. I'm in Fishers. I'll be there next year.

Stocked up on supplies in a great local shop I found in my travels in North Texas.
