ATTENTION:

I don't know how this page got out of control, but we have a section dedicated to Rods & Reels.

This section is for all other "tackle"".

That's my fault everyone. I need to take a real good look in the mirror but I promise I will return better than ever before.

Well I needed a fire craw trailer to go with the vibrating jig, and the swim jig was in the bargain bin.  What could I do?

Would it make a difference if the title of the thread was changed to - Latest Purchase Thread ?

Certainly want to respect the Mods/Admins - yet it seems draconian/rigid thinking/slave to semantics to say people cannot post their latest purchase of rods/reels in this thread -- which is a Latest Purchase thread after all

So if my latest purchase from tw was 2 reels and 2 rods, its not a latest\newest purchase? Ithink somebody needs to go fishin?

The idea of this thread is Tackle which technically includes rods and reels but was seen as turning into a ROD dominant topic, which has its own thread, specifically for rods,,,,,,,,,,,,and reels,,,,,,,,,,,but not tackle 😖

I think we’re splitting hairs……………….

oh, bought this

Why not a separate new purchase rod & reel monkey thread? It seems that this would be a simple solution and there wouldn't be any ambiguity.

I’m not a moderator. I only repeated their wishes that had already been posted. Take it up with one of them smart ass.

Just arrived is a Piscifun Carbon X II 3000 spinner to add to my arsenal. I'm a fan of these reels and especially like that they are so light. This is #7 Carbon X (and II's) 3000. Very smooth and they have held up really well. The only drawback is parts availability, but for me that hasn't been an issue.

I recently purchased a Piscifun Carbon X II 1000 to use for some crappie/pan fishing as it looks like the lakes here will be free of ice well before the May 11th bass season opens...I am happy to hear you have had good experiences with them since this the first Piscifun I have purchased

Not long ago I bought a like new Okuma Hakai off our flea market and a new Zillion from one of the Japanese stores.  Tomorrow morning I will head to the little pond dug out for us villa residents to fish at.  Have a few rods (and reels) that haven't been used yet, but they weren't purchased within the past year.

EDIT:  Only Piscifun reels I have are the Sword fly reels.

What the mods say, goes. I guess I don't see what the big deal is if it's all posted in here like it has been. Like others have said rods and reels are technically fishing tackle.

Can we all just decide it's okay to post rods and reels in here? It's easier to have everything in one place. Might as well go ahead and separate terminal, hard lures, jigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, soft plastics, and line while we're at it. Only makes things more difficult to have rods and reels in a separate place

If the Carbon X II in the 1000 size performs (quality wise) like it's bigger brother in the 3000 size, I think you'll be very  happy with it. It would be great if spare spools were easily available, but I'm told it will be several months for them, according to Piscifun. They used to be available for the Carbon X 3000 but not now.

I like the idea of this thread too!

I have to admit I went a little nuts at the Bass Pro Spring sale. It was annual bonus time at work, so I brought 3 old spinners to trade in. Wanted to check out a 2000 Vanford for a little Falcon Expert "Dropshot" rod I have, and maybe check out a couple Tatula MQ 2500 reels for my wife to replace a couple heavier Presidents she had been using.

As usual lately,.... Bass Pro didn't have what I wanted. No 2000 series Vanford. Doesn't even look like thet stock it when I checked online, and they had no 2500 Tatula MQs.

I had already traded in, so I was stuck and decided to liok at other options. Decided on a Tatula MQ 3000, a Ballistic MQ 2500, and a Vanford 2500. I put the Tat on a 6'9" ML Fenwick HMG my wife likes. Balances REALLY nice!  I put the Vanford on an older Fenwick World Class I had picked up at American Legacy. Feels good! Lastly. I put the Ballistic MQ on the 6'10" Falcon Expert rod. Nice light setup! I set it up as a light little ned rig rod for now.

I think I am done for a while!! (I hope!!)

Picked up a couple new Daiwa reels . The 1st a tatula mq lt spinning reel. The 2nd a tatula sv tws.  Really happy with both so far the sv tws reminds me a lot of the zillion. Not quite as smooth or light though but not far off.
