I put a bunch of stuff in my cart, and then when I went to look in the cart, it wouldn't let me in. I tried two different browsers. I called customer service and they offered me a 20% discount code if I ordered online, so I tried installing a different browser, which solved that problem, but lots of items were out of stock online to begin with, and then after I spent a bunch of time filling the cart with enough stuff to get free shipping, enter my address and credit card info and solve the 20th CAPTCHA of the day to review my order, it says, "some of your items have gone out of stock, please review your cart". I look in my cart and half of the 12 items are out of stock.

 

I deleted the order and my account. Never again will I order online from them.

A lot of their colors and items are mislabeled on their website too. Love shopping in store, but online isn't worth the headache.

Pickings are rather slim at local Wallys, but found couple W&M Skeet Reese Spinnerbait 7' BC rods for $21/each.  They still had couple Jimmy Houston Camo 7' MH  BC rods for $9, but I left them.  They should go well with the  $25 Dick's Okuma Stratus V reels (got 3 in the last month or so).    Heck of a combo for $50.

Abu Garcia Villain 2 6'10" ML spinning is $133 at amazon right now.  Not bad deal but only 8 left.  I'm tempted but controlled myself.

I never find anything like that at Walmart. I Never even  see the brands there that you guys find. 

Or the cheap hardbaits for that matter

It’s definitely hit or miss as far as brands go.  Some Walmarts around Chicago have slimmed down their inventory to basically half an isle, and they usually have nothing of substance (basic beginner stuff). So far, ive visited about 5-6 of them, and only couple have decent gear.

Which Chicago stores have real fishing gear? They always seem to have junk in them.

Finally found something at Walmart worth a try. Berkley generals for $1.50 a bag. I haven't used them before but they got positive reviews here so I grabbed 8 bags. We will see...

I found black and blue Strike King Pro Premiere Jigs for 75 cents at Walmart!!

First time to Walmart in a few years because I’ve read that they have their fishing stuff on clearance. The only I found was a Skeet Reese spinner bait rod on sale for $45. I’ve had good luck with their crankbaid rod and jig rod so I figured what the heck.

Walmart in Western Pa is dog feces. Never has anything in fishing on sale. :spits:

Mine usually don’t. I had my sister go to our closest one no dice. We went to one about 30 minutes away and I found that. I also found an Abu Garcia hat for $8 which was a huge score for this Abu fan boy! ?

Not technically in Chicago, but here’s what I found(all SW burbs)  Orland Park - nothing, Bridgeview had the rods I picked up, but not much else, Darien had some lures, but nothing else, Lockport is usually pretty good, but they’ve been picked clean by now; same thing with Romeoville.     Stores in Huntley and Crystal Lake seemed to have pretty good selection, but someone posted the findings on FB, so by now it might be too late.

Wal Mart here had Senkos on clearance. Reg $6.48. Clearance $6.44. I passed on that sweet deal.
