Close call today. A contractor was boring across the road and hit the gas main (our fault not theirs). I get there and I’m smelling gas a block away from where the bore rig is but hear no hissing gas. I get by the bore rig and hear hissing gas. The gas got into the sewer traveled up the road and came out a catch basin. When it gets in the sewer that’s when things get scary because if it gets in a house is when things can go boom! Thankfully no boom, but now I’m left writing reports, answering to the utility owner, and possibly handing out a suspension.

20 plus years this reel has seen exclusively salt water use

Now that our fields are cut, the big old doe we’ve seen all year has shown us what she’s dealing with this summer. Couldn’t see them all when the grass was so long. At one point today, all three of them were trying to drink at the same time. They darn near nocked her right over. After a minute or so she gave them all a kick in the head, and they went back to eating grass. They’re fun to watch, they run all over the field like a bunch of goofy kids at recess!

Trail cam photo . I think this is going to be  a big  one , Still have a couple of months for those antlers to grow .

I'm not sure how this little guy thought he was going to fit my football jig in there also.  He's worse than me at Thanksgiving dinner.

I dropped my wife off at the Philippine embassy in chicago and due to non existant parking i would drive my car around different blocks and then park next to no parking signs and put my flashers on.

All commuters do this as they then run into a store to buy food or pick something up.

Anyway i parked on this one street at the no parking zone and just looked up and across the street i seen this sign, couldnt believe what i was seeing so i jumped out and took a picture. This was just pure luck to happen to park there.

 

When you get out of the city there are some pretty cool diners and roadside attractions to visit on Route 66 in IL.

First brownie and first rocky. Also caught his first of probably many gobies.

My favorite fishing hole at my favorite time of morning .... Lord willing, will be on it Thursday morning.

I caught a goby in MI and tried it for live bait. Do others try that?
