My best SMB is 6-12 on a drop shot Crosstail Shad.

Moral of the story - you can catch decent sized bass on anything. My biggest fish were caught on a crank, a fluke, another crank, and a YUM Dinger. 4.25 - 5.25 lbs.

My personal best was about 12years ago . It on the trinity river in Northern California. I caught a 12 pound brown trout on a hares ear nymph  , while fly fishing .  I had seen him chasing steel head out of the pool of water earlier in the summer. I chased him all summer, just about gave up catching him.when I finally got him he put a great fight , once I landed him I returned him to the river.

My PB was also caught on a Poe's Super Cedar Series 400 in Shad color (but it didn't have the red sides like yours. In December no less.

 

25.25"L 18.75"G in mid Feb this year, down in NE TX.  Caught it on a 100mm white ice R2S D walker on an owner flashy swimmer.
