Blood transfusion today.

Tough deal.

But to those who donate blood  ~ Thank You.

Something like 3% of people who are eligible to donate blood actually do.

That is how valuable every blood donation is.

So on behalf of Lynn & I and our families,

Thank you for choosing to be a part of the extraordinary few.

Nothing I can say or do will change Gods plans. I can only pray that he keeps the both of you in his plans for a little while longer. Godspeed.

I doubt my blood has made it all the way up there.  I've donated 3 to 4 times a year for 40 years.  I'm O negative, so my blood fits everyone.   I'd like to think my blood has done some good.

Visited Lynn this morning.

Been just over 2 weeks now.

Quite a bit has happened.

Tests, c-scans, biopsies, transfusions, staggering amount of medications

and thankfully some very attentive care from folks who I could never thank enough.

But finally, there's the tiniest of signs that she's 'healing'.

First time I didn't cry on the ride home, so that's good too.

So we're at least trending in the right direction.

Still a ways to go to get her home again, but at this point we'll take it.

Thank You ALL for the positive thoughts.

Stay Safe & Healthy

Been another long week but a good one.

Several days ago a second antibiotic cocktail Lynn's been receiving, did the trick.

It was basically a Hail Mary as the first 4 day treatment showed zero signs of helping thwart the infections.  Lynn was a day or two from being transferred to The U of M several hours south.

So happy she's gotten some of her apatite back as well.

Still a bit weakened and the balance is not very steady.

Lynn's scheduled to be discharged from the hospital today and then directly admitted

to an acute care Rehab Center in the same facility.

They will work on getting her back on her feet.

Had to play tug of war with my primary medical insurance carrier to get it covered,

but in the end The VA, yes The VA, stepped up to the plate Big Time and covered  the whole deal.

I know they get a bad rap at times but not on this one.

Not for us  . . .

#rockstars.

Could still be another several days

and I've been hoping I could say this,

looks like we're out of the woods and en route home base, soon.

Thank you for all your kind thoughts & words.

It means a lot.

Push the VA as far as you can. Get a lawyer familiar with the VA if you run into a brick wall. My SIL's brother got an experimental heart valve more than 10 years ago and he's still alive and kicking. I have a buddy who's a disabled vet and hiring a lawyer familiar with the VA Bulls#!+ was the only way to get 100% disability. Took years to get it but if finally happened.

Awesome update and a great way to kick off a weekend! Glad to hear the VA stepped up like that... tragic how many veterans have the opposite experience.
