Coping with chronic heart ache ~

Update ~

When we last left our heroine, we were waiting, quite nervously, for a few different test results.

In the meantime there's been some degradation of health as a result of medication removals, changes, additions and an infection.

Been in contact with a couple of very trusted Dr's and treatment is on going.

We had an important appointment today.

Long story short, Lynn's bone marrow is NOT THE Problem !

Big Relief.

Admittedly, going into this one we were both expecting a fairly dire diagnosis,

but instead were pretty much floored by the polar opposite.

Lynn's still a sick puppy, but the prognosis at least for the near future might not be too bad,

No hospitalization for now.

Which with a non-existent immune system is good.

Those places are a virtual petri dish of nothing good.

Discussed how & when to expect this infection to subside as well as future plans as far as treatment is concerned.  Going to take some time, it always does.

We'll be laying low for the holidays.

Thanks for the support.

Stay Safe & Healthy.

You two maybe laying low for the holidays @A-Jay, you are celebrating them together with those important to you after some needed good news.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and Lynn.

Good to hear that there's news to be thankful for on Thanksgiving! Stay strong!

Most excellent. Blessings to you and the Mrs.

Thanks for the update on Lynn. As always hoping and praying for the best.

Hope they can find the problem and get her on the road to recovery.. Hope your Thanksgiving goes well.

Great to hear Ajay! Even though the standard is to get together with family these intimate ones between you two and your pups can be something special to enjoy all in their own. Hope you both enjoy your Thanksgiving with the news you got.

As this new year begins we are hanging in there.

Lynn continues with the once a week blood test.

The results/numbers recently are in the 'good' for her situation category.

Her oncologist has weaned her off all the meds that were believed to be at least part of the problem.

We were genuinely concerned with what the repercussions of this would be.

They've been replaced with a brand new med, a monthly infusion takes 30 minutes to administer

rather than than 6-8 hours she was enduring previously.

It's early on, but so far it's doing it's thing.

And we're both hoping that continues.

Lynn's spirit seems much better and that's huge.

When she's good, I'm mostly good.

Clearly not in remission but is she's feeling a little stronger everyday.

Even been out with the pups a few times.

Stay Healthy and as always,

Thank you very much for your support.

You two are an inspiration to all of us. I know you two feel all the love and caring that’s felt for you from your BR family.

Great news, fingers firmly crossed for you both. Happy new year.

So, I've been mostly hesitant to add an update here.

Reason being, all things considered, Lynn's better than she has is a while

and I didn't want to jinx it.

Results from the latest  and continued Hematologist & Cardiac DR appointments have been OK.

Monthly infusions are helping more than hurting.

Blood work remains a little Touch & Go - but mostly OK.

Side effects of some new meds are manageable (easy for me to say here in the cheap seats)

but I can tell when they are wearing Lynn thin and we haven't been seeing too much of that recently.

Our dogs totally give her away when she's trying to 'suck it up', they always know.

Experience has shown, that can not continue without often grave results.

We're both feeling very fortunate and doing EVERYTHING we can think of to

keep this roll going.  There's even 'talk' about getting out in the Old Town together again this summer.  Something that hasn't been possible for a couple of years now.

We celebrated Lynn's birthday last week.

At this point these things are milestones.

Thank you all again for your positive thoughts & well wishes.
