I have always been a dog person. When I was very young we lived out in the country and had dogs and cats. After we got married my wife has had one cat. That was the last one. Now due to my wife having allergy problems we aren't likely to have any more dogs or cats.

Dogs all the way. I have barn cats but they’re here to do a job and not really pets.

Have had dogs and cats most of our lives but I consider myself a dog person. You can own a dog and turn it becomes family, the cats just kind of tolerated us for a while, kind of a temp room mate. When they felt like it they’d disappear, some would come back, some wouldn’t. Had one that brought home snakes all the time, thankfully they were dead when we found them.

Mrs B and myself moved ~25 miles to where we're currently at a couple decades ago.  We found a kitten a year or 2 before we moved and started feeding it.  It stayed outside, but hang around the house.  When we'd sit on our patio he'd be in our laps.   When we moved I borrowed an 18 wheeler to put all of our stuff in.  The last thing I done before pulling out of the driveway was pick the cat up and put him in the cab.   I got to our new house and set him down out of the cab.  Mrs B put him some food and water on our back patio.  The last time we saw him he was walking into the woods behind the house.  We didn't see him again................until.....several weeks later I stopped by our old house to check the mail.  The cat came running up to my truck and jumped in.  I took him back to our new house.  He never left again.  It amazes me that he made it to, and found our old house over 20 miles away.  Cats must have some kind of GPS or something.  I stated before that I'm a dog person.  He wasn't the typical cat.  When it was cold he slept in a dog house, with our beagles.

It's a sign of accomplishment in my book, but Bass can shred your hands before you even notice due to adrenaline and excitement.

Muskie fishing is not for you. ?

Dog person here, but the wife and I have decided our last was our last. Outdoor cats are invasive/feral predators and get treated as such when I see 'em in the woods.

Both. They don’t control my life though.!

Probably more of a cat person really because I don’t have time for dogs since they need more attention…

I enjoy my daughters 2 dogs that live ( hopefully not permanently) with us.

And my cat is a real sweet one…( and kills rats for us too !!!)

My parents always had cats. I have a dog my wife and I rescued and love him. Sure he has his moments. I am sure most come from the trauma he has from being a stray and in shelters. After having a dog and comparing them to my parents cats it’s not even a comparison for me.

Cat person..we never had dogs growing up so that's what I'm used to. We have 2 cats currently: Sullivan, he's coming up on 7 years old and Casper, we about 8-9 months and he's albino. The thing I appreciate about cats is that they have strong personalities and can be dicks so its kind of true to life and prepares you for dealing with people. Dogs are basically always happy to see you and loyal so thats a false reality!

you said it basically the same as my friend. she is a cat person.

she said when a cat likes you, you earned it.  cat love is not unconditional like dog love.

I agree, they are not to be roaming the countryside as invasive/introduced predators. Keep track of your pets, whether they are a feline or a canine. Be a responsible pet owner.

Growing up we had a dog and a cat. I met my wife and she had a dog. The past 17 years we’ve had dogs and unfortunately lost dogs. This may my wife brought home a cat she rescued. To say I was beyond ticked would be an understatement! She had said she wanted to but I didn’t believe her.

I’m not a cat person, but this guy is friendly, and is more like a dog than a cat. He’s managed to weasel his way into my life and is pretty much my cat. ?

I’m getting soft in my old age I guess.

Pretty funny how cats are called introduced and invasive. My dogs have killed birds (and moles and squirrels and mice and rats, probably several other things)

they are domesticated but they came from The same exact spot we all came from

I like dogs and prefer the ones that will kill any cats they see.  :dogdog:

My dogs haven’t killed any of those….. that I know of

my wife used to have a cat or two when we first met, they and the dogs slapped each other around but never fought in earnest. A wild dog (coyote) did kill the cat that was always wondering off

I don't mind outdoor cats, indoor cats gross me out though.

Never had a cat be as excited to see me as my dogs are every time I come home.
