Man, SF had no business winning last week and now this week. Green Bay and Detroit shooting themselves in the foot left and right.

For the first time in my 40 years of life the Lions have the best record in the NFL! ?

  • This is all so stupid. The only reason anyone is hip drop tackling is because they get flagged for any other tackle. Can’t hit the head can’t hit the legs can’t drive to the ground can’t land on them,

There’s a Purdy good chance this is the year of a 6th Lombardi Trophy.

Niners get another chance to play KC in the  Super Bowl and exercise some demons after beating a very good Detroit Lions team. Brock Purdy put the team on his shoulders and willed them to the win.

Go Niners!

Every once in a while there is a Super Bowl where I have no rooting interest.  This is one those Super Bowls.

How are ya'll going to deal with 2 weeks of the Taylor Swift hype?  What a disaster this is going to be for the next 14 days.

Quite possible @TnRiver46, apparently they serve a mean wine and cheese at Levi’s, for others it’s a lot of whine.

*nice one handed grab by UT’s Juwan by the way

The opening line favors the Niners by 3 in the Super Bowl.  I'm sure that will change in the next 13 days frequently.

I don't blame the Lions coach for his coaching decisions. It was the Lions' style all year long. The lions did not execute when it really mattered. I pulled for the Lions.

I feel as though we should all bet on KC in order to guarantee a 49ers victory

I bleed red, white, and yellow but the only play-off game I would have bet on the Chiefs to win was the Miami game.  Like many, I expected the Ravens and 49ers to play in the Superbowl, though I would have loved to see the Lions make it after all these years.  Sometimes, having an iron will to just win the game overrules statistics and sheer physical talent.  We occasionally see teams like this and the Chiefs appear to have become one of them in the last few years.  It seems great talented teams will sometimes lay an egg when they face one of these teams, especially in the play-offs, and that is what the Ravens did.  Mental toughness is a talent that is difficult to measure, but paired with some physical talent it can be hard to beat.  Tom Brady was the obvious master when it came to talent paired with a mind that just would not accept a loss.

Go Chiefs!  I hope they have one more instance left in them of beating a team that appears to be more talented.

I don't have skin-in-the-game, not since my favorite team wimped out and started playing in a dome.

Yes, I was a Vikings fan back in the day. Coach Grant, Tarkengton, Foreman, Page. When they moved to the dome, I was done. So I just watch football.

Here is what I noticed on Sunday:

Andy Reid, Mahomes, Kelsey are wonderful. Stephen Christopher Spagnuolo is a d**n genius(!) Lamar is a special talent, but his passing prowess (and touch) leave much to be desired. Good defensive coordinators will find ways to limit his impact. He had a few opportunities to drop in passes for big gains / TD's, but he just couldn't do it. Spagnuolo's scheme shut down the Raven's rushing attack, and did just enough...and Mahomes delivered.

Gotta love Dan Campbell...stayed true to his word...aggressive to the end...but that led to his demise. Taking points on 4th downs deep in enemy territory may have sealed the win for the Lions...but Campbell has been aggressive all year long, and rolled the dice. Left the door open for the 9'ers.

Changed within the hour @gimruis to Niners -1. Not sure what it is currently.

I’m definitely looking forward to this game and some Niner redemption, however less than 10 players from both Super Bowl LIV teams. In that game the Niners played championship football for 53 minutes, celebrated an interception in “flash mob” style in the end zone as the Chiefs looked on and took notice. We all know what happened a few minutes later after the conclusion of 60 minutes of football.

@DaubsNU1 and @throttleplate, thanks for the memories. Mine go back to when I was a kid and my team was in SB III, Joe Kapp, “The Purple Gang” with Alan Page, Jim Marshall, Carl Ellen, Wally Hilgenberg, Paul Krause losing to Hank Stram with Len Dawson throwing to Otis Taylor and Mike Garrett running through them. Not to mention Stenerud kicking in the unheard of soccer style and not missing his field goals attempts. Nice picture of Chuck trying to get around Jack Youngblood by the way.

Crazy to consider, but clean up 2 or 3 'one-second' WR lapses by Reynolds and Flowers and we're looking at an entirely different SB.

I was a little bummed. Not for the Lions losing, but losing after that first half start. It was a total team loss. Dropped passes and missed tackles cost them. If you were to ask me before the year started that the Lions would be in the championship game, i would say no way.  " Wait until next year" Lions mantra since '57. ☹️  Stupid Ravens.  I had a bad day.

Absolutely a possibility. Kinda like one missed block on the 6th play of the game changed last year’s NFC Championship outcome.

Still, the Niners scored 27 unanswered points against a very good Detroit defense that stymied them in the first half. In the AFC Championship game, Baltimore’s defense held Mahomes and KC’s O to 17 points, but KC’s D made the big plays when they needed them and pretty much shutout MPV candidate Lamar Jackson and Baltimore’s offense.

It’s gonna be a tough game for the Niners, going up against a legion of Swifties and the Chiefs, but I think Purdy and The Faithful are up to the challenge.

I think you got a solid one in Eric Washington. Not really

happy to see him go, but that's the NFL and he deserves

to move up in the ranks. Good luck.

well there is always the XFL-USFL starting in march, i dont watch that but i would if they put a team in fargo, nd.
