They keep telling me it's going to end eventually. But I'm really concerned that my Qualude stash might not last that long. 🥴 A-Jay

  • Have to admit that I do enjoy seeing posts from folks who are sharing in a full-on winter experience. And not the kind that 'melts' by lunchtime. I will be sure to remind you of this again when you po

  • We've had a bit of a warm up and it's been raining on & off since early this morning. Best part is my shoveling efforts seemed to useful. Half my roof is bare and exposed. More snow is on the way

We are having a white Thanksgiving.

Got 5 or so inches overnight with more on the way.

Be going straight through Monday if we're lucky.

Had some big wind overnight as well.

Dogs were up half the night alerting to some of the more robust gusts.

No plans for any snow removal until it stops or we get more than 20 inches.

Whichever comes first.

Good Times.

Brule, WI received 24 inches of snow. It is located on the south shore of Lake Superior. The northwest flow of colder air across Lake Superior just kept dropping lake -effect snow.

We got hammered pretty good.

It came down hard yesterday, just about all last night, and is continuing today.

Forecasts call for "lake effect snow bands" until 7 pm tonight.

Looks like about 18-20 inches on the ground, but it's hard to tell with all the drifts.

Dogs like it.

My snow removal operations will start tomorrow morning.

Should be extensive.

Not bad for the first one of the winter.

Dang @A-Jay! I won’t groan about the 9” we’re getting tomorrow through Sunday morning. You win!

The UP got, like 3 or 4 feet, so we both have some work to do . . . .

I'll try and get some snowblower use video tomorrow.

It's just the right type of snow to totally blast it !

If this wind keeps up, I'm pretty sure I'll get a face full a few times too.

Good Times.

We're still missing the worst of it. Tonight into tomorrow they're predicting 2"-5" in our immediate area.

The bulk of that is moving through Iowa and southern MN.

Won't be long until the masses head out onto Red Lake...

We're well behind you folks up north here in OH, but time is running short on the 2025 fishing season. Water's at 43 and dropping about 1 degree per day. If the current forecast holds, Tuesday might be my last trip.

I got about 3-4 inches of fluffy, light snow.  I snow blowed my driveway and then helped my neighbor with hers.  The nasty stuff at the end of the driveway that the snow plow left was too much for her.

Just after clearing away the last event, it started snowing again.

Another 8 inches fell over the weekend.

At some point tomorrow, I will be posted behind the Beast for at least 90 minutes or so.

Big storm heading my way tomorrow. Calling for anywhere from 4” to up to a foot. I put all the patio furniture in the shed and got the Ariens out, fired up, and ready to go. Can’t believe it’s that time already.

We went from 55 degrees, dry, and mulching leaves to 6 inches of snow blowing in about 6 days here.  Extreme changes.

Last mow of the season was 23-November...figured I had some time to get the mower deck off, and the snow blower installed. Oops...waited too long on that swap.

Saturday we got 6-8 inches of snow. Got wheel weights, chains and snow blower installed and managed to get my driveway and a few others on the cul-de-sac cleaned up.

And I failed to get the Lund down to the shop for winter storage. So Taco (Honda Accord), continues to sit in the driveway...makes for cold mornings.

This storm turned from a lion's roar to a squirrel's fart.  72 hours ago the forecast was for 6" here at the house and more to the north.  Then every 24 hours it dropped by 1/3 until last night it turned into sleet/rain.  We got about 1/2" of sleet to start the day and then it has rained on top.  Everything is just about melted now and another couple hours should take care of it.

Unfortunately, a full day of 35 degree rain is going to put a hurt on the water temps in the lakes.

@casts_by_fly we got the Lion’s Roar. 10” so far and still several hours of snowfall to go. At least it’s a light powder.

And so it begins - this is a picture of Excelsior Bay - SE corner of Lake Minnetonka....ice is forming.

Oh you can guarantee the masses will be on upper red in the coming days. It’s supposed to be -15 on Thursday morning.

 dang winter....

You guys are living what I moved away from;  don't miss it at all.  Planning to throw some jerkbaits tomorrow.

Winter weather forecast for today has schools and businesses closed.  It snowed for almost 20 minutes this morning.   Gone now @ 11am.  Time to go fishing.  Surface temps still at 50.  Shad are bunching up nicely and the dinner bell has been ringing.   Numbers not great yet, but sizes been good.

Another inch of snow here today.  Possibly more tomorrow afternoon.  And again next Tuesday, and Thursday.

It's only Dec 5 and I'm kinda sick of this already.  Been mostly snowless here the past two winters.
