What do you consider as the most comfy baitcaster to palm of all time?

Featured Replies

I'm going to say the TDZ, it disappears in my hand. That said, it's also my newest reel, so I'm sure something better has been made in the last 20 years!

I own Shimano (including a Core), Diawa, Abu, Lews, and 13. My first generation 13's are the most comfortable in my hand.

I don't notice the little things like 'comfy'' but the first time I handled my first generation Concept A I immediately noticed how nice it felt. I own 10 different brands of casting reels. That was the only time I got that feeling. However, not all my reels have been used yet so maybe it could happen again.

It’s a tie. My OG Zillion and my Chronarch/ Metanium. I have large hands and most of my reels palm very well but those two stick out.

13 Fishing Concept series for me too. Interested to see what Rapala/VMC does with that line of reels. I do need a Steez CT to try.

I can tell you Rapala won't sell you reel parts. Their policy is to mail them your reel for service starting with a $40 cleaning/inspection.

As the title says. For me, it's undeniably the Steez CT frame. The new steez 2024 is extremely close, but still not CT level.

How about you all?

Its 2026

The way Rapala degraded and removed so many great products from 13 should be a crime against humanity. I wanted one of those 2nd gen(I think) concept Cs, with the silver handle and cork grips. No one around here carries 13. Cabelas and BPS had a few at times, but never the Concept models.

13 made some pretty nice baits as well, that Rapala pulled. I dont think they would be a nearly as successful as the Crush City line, but they wouldn't have hurt sales.

Rapala cut the Fate and Omen Green line back so far before totally axing them. They were good rods for the price, and sharp looking too.

I may just decide to pull all the X raps and sub walks out of my plug bags in a feeble protest.

I bought a couple 2nd gen C's when TW was closing them out. They were not as good as gen 1 Concept C's. They are worth what they were closed out at, but not retail.

Ok, then the one I was talkin about was 1st Gen. The newer model had a black handle and didnt have cork grips. They werent cheap, like $250ish and the TX was like $280 or 300. If the C was smooth and casted well, I would consider it worth it, not too many reels that size are under 6oz. for that price.

They would go on sale on Amazon for a little over $100, but they sold out really quick. If I can catch a sale on the TX ill buy one of them.

Exactly this. The CT frame is amazing.

I really like my older Lews. They’re quite small.

To all of you saying steez ct, how much smaller is the steez ct compared to the steez a2? I’ve never held a ct in person but it looks remarkably similar to the a2 in pictures.

The other day I was at Walmart and palmed Shakespeare's new Barbie reel. It's small size and smooth finish make it the most comfortable reel I have ever palmed. If palming comfort was a priority for me this is the reel I would choose.
