I miss Sportsman's Warehouse.  Bass pro/Cabelas ran them out of Oklahoma 😕

Picked up a few Megabass lures. The Griffons are the new color schemes. I couldn't pass up my favorite color Kasumi Ito but the GLX Double Chartreuse is unreal. Somehow, some of the new Megabass offerings have even better paint jobs.

I did get two of Great Hunting 95s. They are a weird one. They have an internal rod with a front counter balancer that causes the bait to roll side to side. It floats and goes down to about one foot.

Still waiting on 3 GH 110s.

Megabass must be in the air @FishTank lol. I have been eyeing a slightly heavier rod lately and have not found the right one. Local shop finally got another one in and after researching it some I decided to finally buy my first p5 rod and a jerk bait color that I didn’t have yet.

KGB rarely does repeats but over the summer they dropped the re design of the Chad Shad in a color called Threadfin.

Sold out in seconds and I missed the first drop of 200

Oct rolls around and I'm quick on the trigger and I score one of the 200 batch....catch numerous fish on it during the Fall and Winter.

Then in Feb. I lose it and a big fish inch from the net

Now in April I scored another one in the third run albeit slightly different painted head and name.......blue headed threadie is the colorway.

I have that color 110 (Pearl Ayu). I got it as a gift from JLS with a reel I ordered. I've caught a few with it.

You will have to let us (me) know how the Tequila Baccarac works out. I've been looking at this one. I almost pulled the trigger on it a while ago but I couldn't decide between that and the Evoluzion White Python. They seem very similar other than price. Once I decided to get one of them, both were out of stock and I have not revisited that idea since.

I definitely will let you know what I think of the rod once I get a chance to use it and test it out on a variety of presentations.

@Jmurphy87 The TB is a blast, it can do so much.  I hope you love it like I do.

I am sure that I will like it, did quite a bit of research before pulling the trigger on my first p5 rod. I have been eyeing them for the past 2 years it was between the x-bites, super destroyer, tachyon shaft or the tb. I needed a rod in my quiver to cover 1.5-3oz so I could throw the new spro Chad shad, gantrel jr and some mag drafts. My research showed that the tb tops out around 3oz and it can throw lighter things than it’s rated for. So I figured why not have a versatile stick for a multitude of different presentations and cover situations. Now the fun part deciding on a reel for it and buying some more swim baits. That will undoubtedly lead down another rabbit hole of bass and probably other species fishing lol.

Thank you Shreveport Bass Pro, very cool!

Can't believe they had juggle minnows. Gonna throw that around the shallows when I get home and see what happens. I think I'm weirdly just as excited to try the VMC crankbait snaps (not pictured) on a walking bait. I already use a duo lock to make the bait turn with less effort, I'm hoping the thinner wire, shorter length, and wider loop of the crankbait snap will provide even more articulation (action) at the line tie. Will report back.

Picked up a few Chatterbait Evos from Academy. Really been enjoying the bluegill color, picked up a couple to replace ones I lost since I'm down to 2 of them, and picked up 4 in electric shad. Really wish they carried over green pumpkin shad to this line, but electric shad is close enough.

I had some loose minnow baits in one of my boxes and fished them the other day and that bait just got hammered.

I couldn’t remember what it was and could not find it on the TW website. So I went to the nearby marina tackle store and I found it - Reaction Innovations Little Dipper.

These paddletails also have a little bit of wiggle to them and the bass around here go nuts for them. I bought a bunch more of the Little Dippers and a few bags of the Big Dippers.

Really been enjoying the bluegill color

I bought one of those this past winter solely based on a previous post of yours.  I haven't used it yet though.  Bluegill-colored lures are a proven producer for largemouth here, as sunfish represent a significant portion of their diets.

Was it the post in November where I talked about losing that enormous bass on a work trip on that color? Still wake up in a cold sweat some nights thinking about her, she was a truly awesome fish. Unlikely I'll be in that area to get another shot at her, but you never know.

No, it wasn't that one.  It was just one in this thread earlier I think.  I would never try to re-ignite a case of PTSD to someone on purpose. :rain:

BTW you're not alone.  I think about enormous lost fish frequently too.  Those images and experiences are permanently tattooed on my brain.

My main four set ups are old greenies, Curado Bantam 200’s so I decided to move in to a bit of modern technology. Having already a Kistler series 100 reel on a KLX rod I went with a 200 series this time for my IMX GLoomis jig setup.

Any line recommendations, besides braid?

Foolish or fantastic. We’ll see.

How do you like your Kistler reel? For line, I'd recommend 16# Sunline Sniper fluoro.

I really like the 100 series reel although a bit of a bfs feel to it with better line capacity. It throws a 1/4oz spinnerbait very well, but feels small in my hand. I thought it would be a too “light” for the KLX 4M rod but it hasn’t been a problem. The reel’s fast adjustability is great and is very smooth casting and cranking.

The new series 200 I’m putting on my 7’ GLoomis IMX MBR H/F for throwing jigs, shakey heads and bigger texas rigged worms.

I like the MBR rods as they can throw several baits and not just one specific presentation well. My other “greenies” are on GLoomis IMX MBR rods as well; M/F, MH/F and a CBR/F.

The baitmonkey rode me until I relented on the new reel. If I like it I’ll probably replace the other 3 with the same.

Good call on the line, I’ve been eyeing the Sunline. I have McCoy Mean Green(12#) and Crystal Clear(15#) but haven’t used mono/co-ploymer in forever being all my reels are set up with Power Pro braid. The coil in non braid lines drives me crazy!

I hear ya. If you're gonna get fluoro I'd recommend getting some KVD line conditioner. It helps. Spray on night before or morning before you go out. Sniper is quite manageable for a fluoro line.

Any experience with the McCoy brand. I’ve read great reviews, supposed to be low stretch, super limp and easy to tie knots.

(kinda like me) 😝

Seriously, I haven’t used a non braid in many years and prefer to spool this new reel with a co-polymer but not ruling out a flro. Would a fluro be a better option for a jig setup? Is there a downfall to using a co-polymer line, other than stretch?

Guess I better search “lines”

@Motoboss If you are using Yo Zuri Hybrid CO Polymer line there isnt much stretch, i use it for bottom fishing and it does great, but Fluoro would be the better choice for jig fishing if you think its worth 2-3x the price.

18# Diawa Samurai Hidden Fluorocarbon?

Spent the morning in Chattanooga. Went to Sorry Custom and grabbed a couple chatterbaits to try and a few open pour 8” swimbaits. While in the area, I went to hog farmer and stocked up on spunk shads…

After telling myself I'd take it easy on tackle for a while I ended up getting a couple packs of  Geecrack Bellows Gill Swimmers since the bass in my local pond seemed to be eyeballing the bluegill like crazy today. Hopefully they are worth the price...
