I’m pretty sure the Bait Monkey and the Rig Monkey ? both use Jedi mind tricks! Last week I was sitting in my house minding my own business when out of nowhere this voice keeps repeating “spinner bait, chatter bait, spinner bait, chatter bait.” Next thing I know, I’m online at BassPro ordering 2 willow blade spinner baits, 2 Colorado blade spinner baits, and a chatter bait. Bait monkey must have spoken to Rig monkey because yesterday, I drove out to BassPro (20 min) and purchased a 6’10 MH Fast Veritas Rod. Had to promise my wife that I would not spend anymore house acct money on fishing equipment for a year. Legally am I bound by that promise if I had my fingers crossed??

Nope, I went two months ago, and couldn't find anything I needed.  There wasn't an empty shelf in the terminal tackle section, first time in months.

I caught a lot of quality fish on that Swammer in the 309 color on a gill colored swim jig. It was my favorite new lure of 2020.

No. Lol.  I bought the new MegaBass Levante Jerkbait special rod since they are finally in stock.  I dont feel like waiting another month or 2 and an extra 100 bucks for the Orochi XX version.  

 

I'm pretty excited to try out these new levante.  Ben from the Hook up, raves about them. Its gonna be both a top water and jerkbait rod for me... if I like it I may get a second one or even get the Orochi Version when they are available.

Come on man, I'm already half way through the first pot of Black rifle coffee.

 

Really been upping my rod game for the past 2 months, with a custom Judge Rod, from Mike, a Loomis Conquest jig rod and this rod... I've mentioned before that I'm getting ready to start tournament fishing again this year.

 

 

I don't know how much coffee is enough. All I know is that I haven't had it yet. Hopefully in the next little bit I'll be useful for more than keeping this seat warm.

 

I'm living vicariously through you all right now in terms of fishing gear. The mistress is overdue for some TLC, so I'm waiting on wheel hubs, knock sensors, and brake consumables.

On a side note, some of the lakes you spoke of, if memory serves me right, are pretty clear.  If that's the case, pick up a matte colored one.  The lack of reflection seems to cause more bites.

 

 

Oh yes the lakes are clear enough to see 15-20 feet down in some spots. What is matte color?  I’ve herd it referenced before.  Just not glossy or a more dull colored crank.

Its more of a dulled color scheme.  It will be labeled as such too.  For example, I believe megabass makes a vision 110 in matte perch pattern, as opposed to just perch.

I won this on eBay brand new for $162.50.  I've found being a lefty fisherman that either the reels are cheaper than righties or you can't find them at all.  It's feast or famine.  I'm happy with that price for a new SV.

Here are the different versions of the Perch color.  The last one is the matte finish.  There maybe a few more but this is what I am current with...

 

 

 

I’m proud of myself. I stopped at WM to get a pair of insoles for my shoes due to plantar fasciitis and I knew I needed another Plano 3600 for the new XZone baits I have coming. 
 

Bought the insoles. Bought the 3600. That was it. 
 

Now I guess I will suffer the wrath of the BM.

I broke down and splurged on the Edge Terminal box (bought my dad one too), during the 25 days sale at TW.  It's definitely nice...not worth $50 though.  Got a few more odds and ends with that order: some Ima Bill Lowen squarebills, reels covers, treble hooks, dropshot weights, and an Ima Skimmer to try out.  Also just picked up unnecessary stuff off Midway.  It was all 45-50% off so I couldn't say no.

 

The conversion to thin 3700's is pricey, but worth it IMO.  I'm doing it a chunk at a time.  

Didn't plan to pair these two because I figured the maroon and black/green/purple wouldn't look right.  I was wrong.  Looks pretty slick!
