Had a couple passengers on the boat today, I think they really enjoyed their ride along.

  • After a couple of years of being used to make the new movie "TOP GUN-2" this F-18 E  has just arrived @ our facility in Jacksonville Fl. for rework, fresh paint and being returned to the active fleet.

Pretty incredible the talent some have when it comes to drawing and painting. As for me, I’m happy if a stick figure comes out looking half way decent.

Came across this guy sunning himself on the driveway coming out from work yesterday.
Massasauga rattler, the only venomous snake we have around here. Got a cool video of his rattle really buzzing. About the only place we ever see them around here is along the shore or on islands of Georgian Bay.

Those are pretty rare in our neck of the woods.

My five year old niece was drawing things on mom’s driveway today and she told me to draw a cat. It was quite pathetic and looked like maybe a ferret. Then she put me to shame by drawing a pretty impressive cat face

The magic of kids is that they don't know that they can't do something, so they just go ahead and do it anyway.          jj

Since the western portions of Wyoming and Montana are grizzly country this is an essential piece of kit on my belt in the backcountry.

Fortunately the only negative wildlife encounters were run-ins with a porcupine...no pictures since I had my hands full removing dozens of quills from each dog's face with my Leatherman and, then, keeping them from heading in for round two with the porky.

Myself, my father, @cadman, Mrs. cadman, and a number of others volunteer annually for an organization that spends a day introducing kids to the outdoors. Had 39 kids today. We run the fishing portion. A number of kids caught there very first fish today. There is also archery, dog expos for both pointers and retrievers, and .22 rifles. The instructors for the rifles were marksman trainers from the local Naval base. All the kids went home with some fishing lures, and fishing educational material provided by the Wisconsin DNR and duck calls, t shirts, and hats from Ducks Unlimited. There were a lot of raffle prizes as well that included fishing combos and long guns.

Unfortunately I'm having issues loading the rest of the pics. I'll keep trying.

Last Saturday’s festivities I finally got around to posting…

3B513F19-1F17-4E37-923F-077CAA715C12.jpeg

Only appropriate to wrap up the "out west" photo story with Max relaxing in "his" chair in Lewistown, Montana, last year after a day spent chasing sharptails and Hungarian patridges.

Looking forward to being back there in about a week or so with Max and Tricksie and continuing our adventures.

It’s looking like a favorite son of UT is going to make the squad, Jauan Jennings. He’s one of the fiercest competitors in the sport. He’s been injured many times and lost a few steps but he makes up for it with all the intangibles. The guy brakes tackles like none other, just refuses to go down

As a little lagniappe (a Louisiana term for "a little unexpected extra'), here's a final out west photo, appropriately of a road less traveled, my favorite kind, a scenic view from La Barge Creek Road in Wyoming.

WHEN?

Congrats, your fishing time just got cut in half, but if she's like mine, it'll be worth it.?

I saw this the first time at 4am in the fog headed to the lake.  Took this pic about 8hrs later on my way home.  I have no idea what happened but I think we can all agree that it was a bad day for someone.  I feel their pain.

Also, I will reluctantly admit that when this thing materialized in my foggy headlights I briefly stabbed the brake as my 4am brain thought I might be driving into the lake...

This past Saturday. It's been way more than cut in half since the baby came last year, but we're boat shopping soon.

the bass slayer, not the car, my wife.
