Any color will do as long as it's white.

It depends. If everyone is throwing a white or chartreuse base spinnerbait,  I go with this guy. I don't know what it is about pink but it catches them.

Not much of a secret. I'll  post another one later.

I do let one slip from time to time but it doesn't help if you can't find the fish or they aren't biting.

I use white/chartreuse  on both spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. Use white, black on buzzbaits. These color have worked for me for years and still do.

Back in the 90s when I threw spinnerbaits a lot, Stanley made 3 great non-traditional colors that I used to catch a bunch of fish on. One was Red Perch, one was Baby Bass, and the third I just called Bluegill, though I don’t believe that was its official name. Kind of pale blue green chartreuse combo that was my favorite of the three. I’ve never really seen anyone make something close to that since, but I’d have to believe it would still be a solid option these days in bluegill forage lakes.

Key Comment : "Bluegill Forage Lakes" .

You guessed it. The blades I think are gold and pink.

Aren’t they all?

There’s a grain of truth in that statement, which is just to say, that particular color worked everywhere ? ?

….but bluegill are often not the dominant species in bass diets even when available.

Simple Firetiger color with a white Zoom Fluke is an absolute big Bass magnet during pre-spawn. Works great on Lake Erie, but can catch them anywhere Bass target Perch or Bluegill.

Made this one trying to duplicate the Yamamoto "Natural Shad" color and it works way better than expected.

Your art work on the Fluke didn't go unnoticed. :)

I have one made by Strike King that is called Morning Dawn.  Its not quite full pink like that one, but its a blend of pink, purple, and silver fleck I think.  I used it last spring for the first time and caught a couple fish.  Will be using it again.

Sneaky details, possibly inspired by many hours of watching Bob Ross ?

This pattern has done very well around places bluegill are a main storage source.

Nice, I'd keep the orthopedist's number handy for when you get your shoulder yanked out...

It's more like my hand. That bait thumps like crazy but you're right, when fish hit this bait, they destroy it.
