T rigged, stupid tube, weightless, and of course with a standard tube jig head inside.

I have a drawer full of tubes, 100's but haven't thrown one in years.

Maybe I need to reevaluate.

I have everything from <1" tubes up to 6" mondo tubes! My local tackle store has them in every size and color imaginable but I have never really tried the 6" tubes.

I’m sure locality plays a role in availability and demand. Here in Florida, I don’t see too many tubes at tackle stores, which is a shame considering how effective they are on redfish and black bass around here. Most fishermen probably associate tubes with highland rivers and reservoirs, so they might be inclined to ignore the pack of tubes on the bottom shelf in favor of regional staple baits.

Or you could send them to me.  The big box stores around here stopped selling them a few years ago.

I haven’t found them to be a big bite producer here in Florida. Now, when I lived in Nc, they were smallie magnets.  Can be rigged virtually snag less, really like the stupid rigs.

Use them all the time. 

I am stoopid for not throwing them more. Cast for cast I dont know if I ever thrown a more fish catching lure. 

I always have a tube tied on-Texas rig for LM, jighead for SM. They are definitely not what the cool kids throw, but they are still effective. 

I love them. They are one of my confidence baits 

In my world of smallie fishing, they are the thing! I've got more tubes than Carter has liver pills

Some people say tubes are for smallmouth but I mostly catch largemouth and they've worked well for me. There's also usually a good amount of grass around so I like the stupid tube and it has been a good alternative to a caffeine shad. They both weigh about the same so I usually switch between them (and a 3.8 keitech) on my MH F spinning setup.

That would be a great question for Bobby Garland.  

I remember forgetting my soft plastics once. Searching through my gear I found a bag of Gitzits.   I texas rigged them up with a 1/4 oz weight and didnt skip a beat . Caught largemouths shallow in cover and deep on points that day.

We fish St. Clair and if the bite is tough a tube cures a bad day fast. As mentioned it's taken a back seat to some different techniques but is crazy effective.

I imagine lots of younger people can say that, like people who have started fishing in the last 5 years or so. Maybe 10 years? It wasn't that long ago they were still popular.

I'm thinking Gitzits have to be almost 50 years old now. I haven't fished a tube in at least 10 years. Still have a few packs of them. 

To us smallmouth guys tubes are a real go to.

Even more so nowadays since NED took over alot of my waters.

Fish see something different.

Ive found while we are all out throwing trd's and the bight is slow to switch over to a tube.

I have been reading about the new latest thing, the Turd and Poop lures, but after thinking about it they are nothing more than a tube without a tail. I'll just buy more tubes. If I need less flutter I'll cut off the tail. 

Tubes for smallies are popular here, but big flipping tubes for largemouth have fallen by the wayside big time. I have to custom order my favorite colors of tubes in the bigger sizes. Pretty much my only option in a big, flipping tube is whatever store brand BPS has in stock at the moment.
